Loufla I agree that Myers should have been pulled before Konerko batted. & yes the next pitcher may have served up the home run anyway, but he pitched well, manage & keep him from being the loser.

I got home in time to watch this game. The fact of the matter wasn't Myers being pulled against any certain batter. He had the right stuff, just poor pitch selection.
Whether called from the bench, the catcher, or the pitcher, Myers threw too many pitches in the same zone, same speed. Konerko and De Aza got into a groove and ended up sending balls out of the park.
Change the location of the pitches, change the types of pitch when the batters get into a groove. Relief pitchers are guilty more often than not. Even if these guys have only one or two pitches, change the locations don't keep throwing in the same spot on each and every pitch.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Ubbie made it through the 1st in order, but he's making a mess of things in the second, with 2 walks following a double to load the bases with 1 out. 18 strikes, 17 balls.
David Ross bats. Who is he?

Gets ahead of Ross. but loses him; game total is 21 balls and 20 strikes for our stud pitcher.

The always dangerous Pedro Ciriaco hits with a chance to blow it open in the 2nd. JR beat me to it, he limits Pedro to a sac fly.

Base hit makes it 3-0...

Looks like it will be Cody Allen to pitch soon. Ubaldo walks yet another, to load the bases.

It does seem that the ump is squeezing Ubaldo, though.

He goes from 0-2 to 3-2, then walks in another run!
Goodnight Ubaldo!

He just needs to tweak a couple things, or maybe try yet another pitching coach.

Allen begins his stint by giving up a double. 7-0 now!

Think I'll check out and see how well Guthrie is doing in Atlanta. Later!
