Cameron Maybin traded to the Yankees for "cash considerations". Clint Frazier joins the bulging Yankee DL, for an expected short stay; Clint is having a breakdown month

Maybin will be in the starting lineup for his Yankees debut Friday against the Giants, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

boy they are desparate for able bodied players. 15 on the DL. Maybin had begun to hit for Columbus, but even so he only reached about 215

Mandy Bell
Lindor also became the third-youngest shortstop in Major League history to hit 100 homers and play at least 90 percent of their games at short.
Alex Rodriguez - 23 years, 16 days
Cal Ripken Jr. - 24 years, 356 days
Francisco Lindor - 25 years, 163 days
Not bad company.

Mike Clevinger is making some headway in his recovery. He could start playing catch in the next week. Great sign for the Indians.

Wouldn't mind Melky's bat back. Been playing very well. Yesterday...
Melky Cabrera* (PIT): 4-5, 2 HR, 3 RBI, 3 R

Nice to see Gio Urshela hitting well as an injury replacement for the Yankees. But then he got hit by a pitch and left the game. Yankees are down to their 3rd string and still doing pretty well, although I guess sweeping the Giants is not so hard these days.

One note of encouragement, the Indians were 15-12 after 27 games last year. Their run differential (runs scored minus runs allowed) was minus one. They own the same record this year after 27 games with a run differential of +1.

and we remain in the AL Central, except these aren't last year's Twins

No way, the Twins added offense. And some of their very young guys (Kepler, Buxton etc) are showing signs of taking their next step.
Still their rotation is a long way from ours. Interesting.

Who would have guessed that Kluber would be the weakest link in our rotation? It looks like we should have dealt him last winter, if reasonable offers actually had been made. Then again, we have every reason to expect him to straighten out and stop walking guys with the bases loaded and line up nicely behind the younger guys in the rotation.
