Guys Cody Allen has really gone south since a nice start and Andrew Miller has totally sucked the whole month!

Allen at 5.40 and Miller at 6.75.

These guys wanted some $, understandably, and it just may turn out the right thing to walk away from them. And with Mejia's struggles behind the plate defensively that deal with S.D. for Hand (and Cimber) is looking golden.

I doubt it, Civ. The dude hit 296 with 14 homers in 300+ at bats as a rookie and you still never liked him.

If the Indians would stick him in the lineup and leave him there he would hit. He’d have hot streaks and cold, like everyone else.

Unfortunately we won’t get to see that, because the Tribe made a stupid trade and are feeling the pressure with Bauers. They will leave him in the lineup and hope he pans out so they don’t have egg of their face.

Tito has his favorites and he has guys he just won’t give a chance. He’d play Michael Martinez over Naquin or Yandy.

Yankees acquired OF Cameron Maybin from the Indians for cash considerations.

Maybin signed a non-guaranteed minor league contract with the Indians in late March after getting released from Giants camp and was batting .229/.397/.292 through 63 plate appearances this season at Triple-A Columbus. He could be added to the Yankees' major league roster immediately given all the injuries on their outfield depth chart.

Maybin, 32, had a .662 OPS with four homers and 10 stolen bases in 129 games last year between the Marlins and Mariners.

Speaking of the Yankees they have won 6 games in a row fielding a junior varsity team.

The team is 13-10 in the only stat that matters but compared to other teams, the bats worse than awful.

All Naquin has to do is repeat something close to his rookie year. If he does, great. If he doesn't, not so great. Anyone can convince me he's better than I expect. or worse. I never thought Joe would be right about Jose Ramirez, and he was. I have backed all sorts of outfielders coming through the minors who flopped. Even Vic Davalillo himself didn't in fact turn out to be a hall of famer. I will admit that the ratio of walks to strikeouts is one fact that I pay a lot of attention, perhaps too much.

The next time we need a fifth starter is about 10 days from now. That give Cody Anderson and Neil Ramirez and I forget his first name Olson 10 days to prove he belongs on the major league roster. In May the 5th starter will turn into a regular assignment and Rodriguez certainly has won himself at least several more starts [and there's no one pitching well enough in Columbus to challenge him for that assignment anyway; except Michael Peoples who's been as much of a surprise as JRod's fillin as Jefry has been for Clev]
