He made Roberto Perez look like Yadier Molina!

#Indians say INF Brad Miller, who was designated for assignment earlier this week, cleared waivers and elected free agency.

Normally, I'd say "he'll come crawling back" but Tribe is on his shit list.

Francisco Lindor will play SS at Triple-A Columbus tomorrow and then head back to Cleveland, where the team will reassess if/when he’s ready to join the active roster.

All of this Stamets/Miller stuff points to one thing about the Tribe. They (too) highly value defense at SS. To me, Miller would have been a great backup 2B and SS.
Same could be said about catcher I suppose.

Tribe has been without its best player.
A team built around its starting rotation has had two of its best starters pitch like crap.
CarGo and Kipnis, two former all star caliber players who are still pretty good has just rejoined the lineup.
Yet you look at the standings right now and the Indians are in 1st place in the AL Central.

Well there are some interesting numbers out there since Tito joined the Tribe - their record and such.
The Indians are an AL-best 547-427 (.562) since 2013 under Francona. His 1,576 career wins with Philadelphia, Boston and Cleveland are second most among current major league managers, behind San Francisco's Bruce Bochy.
AL best since 2013. That's #1 including the juggernauts. Maybe there's something to that Tito thing.

Left field, right field or third base in his future.

Overall the bullpen has been pretty effective. Bullpen composite stats:
55 Innings Pitches
43 Hits
19 runs [Neil Ramirez 6, Carlos Perez 4]
17 earned runs
6 homers [Neil Ramirez 3; Carlos Perez 2]
16 walks
58 strikeouts
7 saves in 8 save opportunities, the one blown by Perez
ERA 2.78
WHIP 1.08
K/IP 1.05
K/BB 3.62
I've seen nothing about Clippard being ready for rehab. But if and when he arrives he can take Ramirez' spot. And then we're looking good. It appears.

Glad to see Clippard moving on in his rehab.
For some strange reason nothing has been recently about the slow-healing Danny Sslazar. I am hoping he can be back for the stretch run in September.
And what about Zimmer, he had a "setback" about 10 days ago.

The last update I saw on Salazar was from the TV guys, and he had started throwing in front of the mound.
A week or so later TFIR said he saw where he was throwing from the mound. I did not see that but if true that is a good sign.

All-Star Francisco Lindor will be reassessed Friday in Cleveland, could make season debut with #Indians over weekend. That's consistent with timetable I've been told for weeks.

This is what I saw earlier in the month:
Danny Salazar (shoulder) has been throwing two bullpen sessions per week at the Indians' spring training facility in Goodyear, Arizona.
There's no timetable for Salazar's return, though it won't be before June as the right-hander was placed on the 60-day IL to begin the season. Now nine months removed from shoulder surgery, anything the Tribe gets from Salazar this year will be a bonus.

Two bullpen sessions a week seems a lot for early April. I don't see how he isn't ready in June.
