One more thing on Clev - to me it's more useful to watch the interviews with the players.
Especially their demeanor. You can tell if they are upset that the injury is for real. If they are laughing/relieved then that tells you something.

No, TFIR. Clevinger is going to miss 6 to 8 weeks.

Actually, even longer than that.

Regarding Mike Clevinger, Terry Francona says it’ll be 6-8 weeks “before we’re even looking at him picking up a ball.”

Adam Plutko is currently out with a forearm issue. And top prospect McKenzie is out now too.
Will be interesting to see if Cody Anderson finally makes his return to Cleveland.
He only pitched 3 innings all of last year after missing all of 2017. And he only pitched 3 innings his first start this year. Doubt they'll push him. It was a very good 3 innings. 1 hit, no walks or runs, 4 K. But don't think he's ready yet.
Who else?

It's a damn shame. Clevinger was really turning into a stud.

Wojciechowski (that was a copy and paste, in case you're wondering how the hell I spelled that) is a vet. 30 years old, and has pitched for Reds and Astros that I know of. He might be logical choice.
Rodriguez we got from Nationals, pitched for them last year. (unsuccessfully) Another candidate.
Chiang spent last year with Columbus, he's possibly ready for a look.
My bet is on Wojawhatever though. Not that I'm thrilled about it.

Oh, almost forgot about Hu. He pitched for Rays last year.
Woj, Rodriguez, or Hu.
But again, my guess Woj.

I don't think we will go down lower. Hentges and Plesac best we have in AA. Don't think either is ready. But gotta admit, I've always been a Plesac fan. An under the radar guy. Dan Plesac's nephew. He's 24 now. Only started 4 games last year in AA. One so far this year.
Hentges is a big lefty prospect, but only in A ball last year. Had one start in Akron this year and got lit up.

In a couple months we will have Clevinger, Plutko, and McKenzie all kicking ass. We just have to get through this spell.

When camp broke Pluto was supposed to miss 3 weeks with forearm strain. He should be about ready to start throwing again. Maybe just have to make due for a start or two before he’s ready?

Aaron Civale would have been in his debut season in Columbus now but he too is out.
Hu went opening day so I guess he's the No. 1 starter in Colunbus but was awful in ST and only worked 2 innings that first start.
I like Rodriguez but he's not ready either.
I like Cody but he's not ready either
Woj has very poor major league numbers but at least he has some experience. So he might come now with Anderson and Rodriguez auditioning for a longer term fill in job.

We need Joe back on the Forum. He gets credit for "discovering" Jose Ramirez having a great winter after a couple of undistinguished minor league seasons and boosting him a hot prospect. Joe was right and Ramirez has become a major offensive threat.
But Jose has turned back into dreck, and we need Joe back to re-inspire the "breakout player of all time".
