Jason Kipnis had to leave tonights game. Anybody have a guess as to why?
If you guess, "with a tight calf muscle" you guessed right.
Seriously guys, this is f'n ridiculous.

bullpen choices run are back to all the guys they ended last year with, plus Wittgren. One or two more cuts remain depending on if Tito wants 7 or 8 in te pen. Knowing him he'd like 8. Or 9. But with his rotation he can easily do with 7. And with his weak team on the field he could easily do with extras on the bench to pinch hit in match ups.

oh and besides Kipnis, Stamets -- likely opening day SS if Lindor is not quite ready -- also left the game yesterday, hip injury, not serious team says.
Might need Flaherty back quickly

Chang is back now, and hit a grand slam yesterday too. I'm not a fan but might do in a pinch.

				Bob Nightengale @BNightengale

Veteran reliever Tyler Clippard, who is out for at least three weeks with a strained right pectoral muscle, re-worked his contract to give the Cleveland #Indians until May 1 to put him on the #MLB roster, paying him $1.5 million with $1.25M in incentives.

Lots of kids have been given an occasional game appearance; Will Benson earned one yesterday. We have not seen Nolan Jones, our No. 1 position player prospect, at all. Is he like McKenzie injured?

deadline to give Hanley a big deal or he can opt out is Sunday. He hasn't exactly proven anything; a couple doubles, some singles. We don't have a ton of options. As we've been noting not quite an excess of outfielders; infield surplus is defense-heavy; I could again suggest Haase as the DH-backup C.

civ - needless to say this but I could be wrong but...
I believe Hanley is a done deal, they will keep him. This guy missed all of the 2nd half of last season and signed late into spring training.
He is in shape and showing bat control, power can come later. I bet he stays. But not betting money.

I bet he stays but it's not clear that he should. There was a reason no one wanted him the second half of last season or until after spring training opened. If they sign him now they're stuck with his salary for the season. They're trying to cut costs, taking on his [is it $2M] contract doesn't seem cost conscious.

				Indians Prospective @indiansPro
18yr old (SS) prospect Brayan Rocchio is starting tonight for the #Indians. Rocchio with the appearance will be the youngest player to appear in a MLB spring training game this year. The #Professor just turned 18 on Janurary 13th this year.

Cool!

I don't think anyone could argue with that. But then again, it isn't clear he shouldn't. Certainly results are inconclusive at this point - it's going to be a gamble if they keep him - and a gamble if they cut him too.

Eric Haase optioned to Columbus. Unbelievable.
Justin Grimm opted out of his Minor League deal and is now a free agent.

Don't worry about guys with options. Nothing special about being on the opening day roster. Play everyday in the minors and yoyo with the big club when needed.
