Cleveland farm system boosted its BA ranking from 16 to 12 and here's a brief report:

Cleveland Indians

Notes:
2018: 21 | 2017: 18 | 2016: 17 | 2015: 23 | 2014: 17

4 Top 100 prospects: 3B Nolan Jones (50), RHP Triston McKenzie (73), SS Tyler Freeman (83), OF George Valera (92)

Notes: Cleveland is a sleeper pick to be a top farm system in a year or two, as they have one of the best groups of prospects in short-season and rookie ball. That also means they have more risk than some of the other systems in this range.

Egads. Might be worst line we’ve seen from Civale.

Thanks, Civ.

Valera homered and singled last night. Best line I think I saw when I read through the box scores. Y Diaz also hit his first homer for the Scrappers. Valera's is his 8th and he leads the NYPL.

here's a better line

Tyler Freeman, SS, Indians – Freeman went 4-for-6 with two runs scored out of the No. 2 spot for high Class A Lynchburg. He is now batting .357 with an .848 OPS in 29 games since his promotion to the Carolina League.

CLE AA Clement, Ernie SS 5 0 2 0 0.287 CS (8)
CLE AA Jones, Nolan 3B 5 1 1 0 0.276 2B (3) OPS 913 that's better than his mark in Lynchburg: 853

I’m still out of town but I was looking over Indians Prospective this morning and copied some highlights.

Indians Prospective @indiansPro

#Indians 2019 11th Round Draft Pick RHP Nick Mikolajchak has put up some ridiculous numbers in his 1st pro season between the AZL Indians & now Mahoning Valley Scrappers over his 1st 10 games.
- 3SV 15.2(IP) 10H 2R 0ER 3BB 26SO 0.00 ERA 15.0 SO/9

Mahoning Valley RHP Brian Eichhorn was put into the Scrappers rotation last Sunday replacing the recently promoted Matt Turner. Eichhorn has made two starts now and has been outstanding in both outings.
- 10.0(IP) 9H 2R 0ER 3BB 8SO 0.00 ERA

Some guys BA may skip ...

Eichhorn 5.0(IP) 4H 0R 0ER 1BB 5SO

Noel 2-4 2B 2RBI

Fermin 2-3 2R 2B HR 3RBI 2BB

Royalty 4.2(IP) 9H 2R 1ER 1BB 5SO

17 year old SS, Valdes, hit his first homer too.

Naylor had a single, double and triple. Big night for triples.
BA doesn't seem to post highlights on Saturday and Sunday so we're on our own for the Friday and Saturday reports.

Freeman a single and a steal

Rocchio single and double; Delgado single walk sac fly; Valera coached 1st base

Jones 2 singles and his first AA steal; Jared Robinson 3 hitless innings, 2 walks, 2k

Some notes on Saturday's games:

Gabriel Rodriguez is not making the splash hoped for in the Dominican after a hot start; he's hitting 238/335/406 A 17 year old 6-2 SS. Obviously he has a long long way to go to prove his value.

In Arizona Cairo left after 1 at bat; he's now hitting 210. Valdes 0=4 is hitting 190 with a 503 OPS; Naranjo is picking it up a little, his first homer and a single, 265/660
OF Will Brennan with a couple hits is at 327/874. He's four years older than Valdes and 3 older than Cairo and Naranjo.
Round 5 RHP Hunter Gaddis 3 1 1 1 0 5. Big guy 6-6. I am always disappointed when a college guy plays his first summer in Arizona, but shows promise

Hankins so so, 5 4 3 3 2 2. 3 perfect in relief by Gregory Vaszuez with 5K
J. Rodriguez finally hits his first homer, and a single; Rocchio 1 hit; Delgado and Diaz none; Valera out of the lineup again.

Lake County: Holmes single and walk; Cardenas has slowed down, hitless now at 284/818; Naylor a walk; Farhat 4th homer; Jerez his 8th;

Lynchburg 3 singles and a steal; Freeman single, "slumps" to 350. Mota continues to pitch pretty well after his promotion: 6 7 2 2 3 5

Akron: Clement 2 hits, both of course singles: Jones single and double; Jordan Stephens 26 year old on the 40 man roster, 5 3 0 0 0 8

Columbus: Bradley 2 doubles; Chang 3 singles; Tom's 1st homer in AAA; Haase's 24th; Johnson single and caught stealing
Danny Salazar as noted elsewhere was dominant in 4 innings, 1 hit 1 walk 5 strikeouts. Karinchak only struck 2 in his one inning, also walked 1.

I see MLB.com has also posted revised Top 30s for each team. Ours is pretty much the same as BA's at the top; still not a lot of lot for DJ, I don't know why not.

23 Tena SS Arizona [new info: nephew of Juan Uribe]
24 Clement SS Akron

Cardenas is a nice hitter but never cracked our Top 30; seemed to bring back a pretty good package of possible talent. is the $200,000 in international signing bonus more valuable perhaps ?

Civ, I am back home now. Thanks for taking the entire load recently!

I was busy getting settled back in so got lazy this morning and just copied IndiansPro’s work. But I’ll be around to chip in now.

Seems I got back in time to see Jones and Freeman get hot. Jones has a 6 game hitting streak. He seems to be settled into AA quite nicely now.

Noel in AZL has modest 6 game hit streak going too.

The longest current hit streak is Santiago in Lynchburg, currently at 16 games.

That is 23 year old Wilbis Santiago. He doesn't walk, doesn't steal and doesn't have a lot of power, so probably no one to expect a lot of in the future. He's hitting 307/335/422 with the Hillcats

[I have a two week trip coming back the start of August so you'll get plenty of opportunity to man the Folder Hillbilly]
