Additional by subtraction getting rid of Howard He and McNaughton are a tough call for worst pitcher of the year.
They need a starter next week when Howard was scheduled. I was hoping Allen would have had 3 starts and would be ready for recall. He's only had one, but I'm sure he's been working with the coaches. He seems the most likely to be picked for that role.

It's plainly obvious that we don't need pitcners. We need about 4 batters that can hit a baseball. Maybe 5 and they ain't coming from within.

Our futility gets rewarded by yet an.other twins loss. KC wins. KC and the Twins are 5 out. We maintain 5 games ahead

Things are not looking up. This slump is in week 3 with no signs of letting up any time soon. This is a fine mess we find ourselves in.

I believe Noel also has 17 k's in 17 games. That's what I'm talk'n about. He's our best bet right now. Only one better is johnathan Rodriguez and he was never given the opportunity that Noel is being given.

I'd like to see JRod on the team too; unfortunately he and Noel fill the same role with JRod better at drawing walks and better RF. While Noel has taken advantage of his 40 at bats and Rodriguez did nothing in them.
Don't forget Manzardo who still has an OPS well over 900.
Not quite sure where he gets at bats either.
Schneemann has pretty much stopped hitting except for an occasional homerun, and sure is not suited to be backup SS
Freeman could be optioned out since his role has dramatically diminished
It probably would not be polite to demote Fry after he made the all star team and drove in a run for the AL but his hitting except for the one game on Saturday has pretty much disappeared.
Not sure why you asked for Florial, Joe, he's hitting about 190 for the Clippers

Freeman is now again an infielder; playing 2nd base today. Martinez seems to be the nearly everyday CF.

After hitting very little over the past 10 games, today we face one of this year's best pitchers with ERA about 2.50. Good luck. Perhaps they will not be no hit; perhaps they will be.

Johnathan Rodriguez (LF, Columbus): 2-4, 1 R, 2 RBI, 1 K - J-Rod extended the longest active on-base streak by a Clipper with this two-hit effort that nearly got him back to a .300 batting average (,299) an kept his OPS at an impressive .919.

Can Rodriguez be any worse than what we've been seeing lately?

We're making some progress. We did score a run. Not only that, we have 9 hits.

Make that 11 hits. 11 hits and 1 run,
