Thank you Aaron Boone.

Not often a manager blows a game by over-managing.

He has a pitcher throwing a 1 hitter in an hour and 40 minutes. The pitcher gets the first out in the 9th with 3 curveballs to Straw.

Kwan slaps a single and with only 88 pitches, Boone yanks him. Said he was worried about the long ball. (Gs ...long ball?) What team is he watching.

He must have been replaying the 15-2 beating the Rangers gave him Sunday.

Couple of walks, couple of errors, couple of more non-longballs and the Skanks lose.

Thanks again Aaron

Thank you Aaron Boone.
You took the words out of my mouth.

Cleveland did 3 things right in the "rally" 1. Kwan got on base 2. Naylor with a nice clutch hit [and thank you again Mr. Boone for working it out that Josh faced a right hander] 3. Zunino fouled off some good pitches

New York did a lot more to make the result favorable to our guys.

Good even matchup between aces: Cole and Bibee. Tanner's scoreless streak snapped at 10. Home run and a double. And then Karinchak allows the tying run to score and once again allows a game winning homer, record now 0-4. He appears to be the only major league pitcher who cannot adapt to the pitch clock or as simply lost his command. He belongs in Columbus

Gallagher behind the plate

he has one single one double 2 walks in 29 total appearances
unlike Zunino he doesn't always striekout: 8 is merely 4 times the number of his hits
he's successully nailed 1 of 9 basestealers
no passed balls
1 wild pitch while he's behind the plate

Based on those defensive stats, I would make the No. 1 catcher until Naylor is promoted.
Bo has 6 homers 7 doubles 25 walks
891 OPS his batting average of 259 is more than made up for with the XB hits and walks.
he used to steal bases but none this year.
1 passed ball
vs basestealers: nailed 2 of 28; last year he caught close to 1/3

Saw the replay that got Rocco tossed. Ramirez dodged twins 3bman and Rocco argued he was out of baseline withe great shifty hips. The umpire was in the perfect spot not to make that call. By definition the base line is 3ft of wherever the runner establishes. Ramirez had already been closer to the outfield grass. Wonder how Tom Hamilton handled this call. He of no knowledge of what a foul tip is.

Anyone remember All Star 2nd baseman Andres Giminez? Good looking player on the 2022 team? The awarded him with a multiyear deal and he hasn't been seen since.
Just added a dp to earlier fly out and pop up.
that makes him 2-25 over his last 8 games. 7 for 52 over 16. He's batted in 3 runs over the 16, walked twice. No extra base hits.

Can anyone tell me if his defense is at least holding up?

His defense is definitely holding up.

He'll be back as a hitter. Cleveland is a sucky place to hit in April/early May. It just is.

AND we all know Tito's teams traditionally save their best for later.

I will accept your reassurance; which leaves me with a Josh Naylor question: we sort of expected him to have an offensive breakthrough but not yet. Amy concerns outside of the cold weather challenge?
Bell has been looking better at the plate since the first few weeks; and he is one of the few besides Kwan who doesn't swing at everything thrown in the vicinity of the plate.
Rosario has been of the latter, but he again is usually a slow starter.
Anything positive about Brennan, outside of being somewhat more patient than Gonzalez?
Zunino is not worth discussing.

Well, the Twinkies series featured excellent pitching and shitty hitting...on both sides. Gs outscored the Twinks 6-5 in 3 games.

Now the Detroit Pussy Cats are up. Time to fatten those awful stats. Last in Baseball in HRs, Slugging and OPS and 28th in Runs scored.

Any leaders on this team?

Magic Moment Tonigh:

27 year old rookie David Fry makes his major league batting 5th and playing 1st base.
SS Gabriel Arias starts in RF.
unfortunately Zunino will be behind the plate chasing pitches back to the backstop

Tough matchup for the G's: lefty with ERA of 6.67 and record of 0-3. He's been susceptible to the long ball, 6 in 28 innings, but that issue should not overly concern him tonight. More relevant vs our guys would be his suspectibility to sac flies but I don't see that in his stat line
