Joe, thanks for helping me relive that 9th inning! It was as exciting reading your posts as it was to watch it on the tube!

As Steven Kwan says, live in the moment, don't worry about the next game or the next series or next year. Live for right now, and right now is pretty sweet!

More TRIVIA

The 24-year-old Gonzalez's walk-off single against right-hander Clarke Schmidt was his third go-ahead hit in the ninth inning or later in five postseason games this year — as many as any player in baseball has ever had in a career.

Gonzalez is in the same company as Pete Rose, Carlos Correa, J.D. Drew, Cody Bellinger and David "Big Papi" Ortiz. Those are the only players in Major League history to have three career go-ahead hits in the ninth inning or later in the postseason.

2022 Gonzalez & 2004 Ortiz are the only ones to have 3 in a single postseason

8-)

How about the Guardian 43 come back wins this season.

(By comparison, in 1995 -- when the Indians amassed a 100-44 regular season record before they marched to the World Series -- the club racked up 12 walk-off wins. Hargrove's bunch posted a 13-0 mark in extra-inning affairs. The Indians totaled 48 come-from-behind victories and 27 wins in their final at-bat.)

They live for the moment.

Mature beyond their years.

Ice in the veins.

No mountain too high to climb.

;)

Important to win this evening.

I don't want to head back to New York.

All good things must end sooner or later.

In my opinion, today was a must win.

Can't say I'm too enthused about the pitching matchups for game 5. Civale vs Taillon seems like a mis-match. to me.

Cole pitched his second game of the series. Where is Shane Bieber??

This is a game where we can't let the yankees score early. I feel more comfortable with Bieber.

Two days rest would be asking a lot I guess.

Do we have just one more miracle left in in the 2022 season?

Game 5 would be the right time to use it up.

Can Civale keep the Yankees off the scoreboard early?

In my opinion, that's "the" key factor.

On the other hand, can the Guardians score early enough and make this game between bullpens?

Those first 3 or 4 innings will tell the story.

All hands on deck!

Man, I hope that rain out doesn't effectively end the season. That would be a crying shame. I think Bieber would have been our only chance against Taillon.

Where is Bieber?

The answer is that is the advantage the Yankees got bypassing the first round is that they could have their No. 1 starter available for game 1. Cleveland could only have Bieber for Game 2 and even if there had not been a rainout he would be on short rest on Monday. Having started on Friday he'd be on way too short rest on Monday. Remember when they pushed Kluber out on short rest in past playoff series, It wouldn't work.

Youir are correct Civ.

I hope we can get a few scoreless innings out of Civale and maybe a couple of more from Plesac.
I think we can score a couple of times against Taillon.
A two run lead could get us into the bullpen.
Wishful thinking on my part I guess.
We've been quite fortunate to get this far, hopefully the luck doesn't run out.
