Aaron Civale (forearm) will make a rehab appearance at Triple-A Columbus on Thursday, Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
ANALYSIS
Civale hopes to return from the injured list Sept. 20 against the White Sox, but he'll have a tune-up in the minors prior to getting the green light for activation. Assuming the right-hander feels good following Thursday's outing, he'll be pitching on normal rest against the White Sox if he's activated when first eligible.

I do not question the Dians management but I do not understand why they do not consider bringing up one of their hot shot pitchers to help out ? Williams etc.
I understand that you may just be fodder for the playoffs but why not worry more about just getting there ?
Absolutely agree although I'll admit there are probably 40 man roster stuff that I don't understand. I get the rules in general but you probably need a committee to understand the small print type of stuff for that.
Remember when Jaret Wright gave us such a jolt once upon a time?
I would have loved to see Gavin Williams, Logan Allen, Tanner Bibee type guys get starts to fill in after the 2 spots opened up.

I signed on just to post my opinion that Bibee or Williams should get the 29th man start this weekend
Logan Allen unfortunately has been pitching like his namesake since his promotion to Columbus
Problem besides 40 man roster ( I’d resolve that with Plesac on the 60-day DL.). They would not to option Bibee or Williams back after his start since that wastes an option.
But if Gaddis is awful again today and if Civale looks like he’ll be ready on tne 20th then they can carry the new guy the rest of the way
Based on recent success Bibee has been the better of the two ERA about 1.5 witj the Clippers
Williams went only 3 innings 1 run last time out, because he’s thrown enough innings this year? Or because they re saving him for Cleveland?
I read that Plesac is throwing a simulated game today and may pitch somewhere Saturday
The one place I don’t want to see him is replacing Cody Morris in the rotation. Perhaps he can replace Civale otherwise join the bullpen. If Zach doesn’t like that and smacks the dugout wall that would not be a surprise
Speaking of place holders, as Tribe Guy was in Articles, Ernie Clement was DFA'd. Unless he returns to Cleveland later, his finest moment will be his last, scoring from 2nd on wild pitch for decisive run last week.
Gabriel Arias to the Infield: he started slowly in Columbus after a fracture but came on well in his last month or more
Will Brennan, the latest unheralded OF who has shown vast improvement in AA and AAA. Got his first start yesterday, accounted two singles and an RBI.
Meanwhile 1st round pick Nolan Jones will finish the year at Columbus apparently. 1st round pick Will Benson hanging around the big club, has speed and fine defense; perhaps he'll hit? we'll see
