It goes without saying he is pressing. Once he breaks through that, if he is given the chance (and who more patient than Tito and what better time then THIS season) then we will have a more accurate picture.

And of course we win with 7 runs.

But Mike Minor pitched well, he is definitely a tough veteran left hander.

Harold looks great. 2 day career might not be quite enough to shake up OF and 1B plans but he's won a few weeks at least in the majors.

And how about Bauers? A home run at a key moment; he's up to 200 and OPS of 590. After a 1-17 start he's been OK for his last 11 games some of which are late inning replacement: 28-2-8-3 4 walks 7 strikeouts 286/375/464. [note: 2 of those 3 RBI were on his hit yesterday] So he buys some time anyway. [N.B. Bobby Bradley opened up his official season going 0-5 but on the plus side only 1 strikeout]

I wasn't paying attention to the game last night and when the missus asked me about the recent doings, I had to look 'em up on the mlb www site. So I saw the headline about some weird play, read the article ... Uh-oh uh-oh it's Angel Hernandez again, wish I'd been listening to Tommy last night.

Now luckily I paid the dough and can re-watch the games in the archive AND this year it's even better because they are giving us the choice of listening to the WTAM feed while watching the picture, and it's nearly sync'd.

So I'm not proud to say it, but I tuned in to listen to Tommy get apoplectic about Angel Hernandez ... he did not disappoint ...

Some encouraging signs.

For the offense Harold Ramirez a possible contributor and Josh Naylor continuing to show progress. Eddie Rosario most likely returns to career norms.

Franmil continuing his maturation at a very young age still and Jose Ramirez...well just incredible and by far the best bargain in baseball.

The rotation has been good but nothing spectacular. Bullpen spectacular.

Bullpen spectacular.

They really did their job at re-assembling the pen . The Kluber trade turns out to be great. Karinchak was a great draft choice. They either made a lucky guess or knew something about Shaw. Sandlin was another excellent draft pick. Quantrill is another very solid reliever unless or until he goes back into the rotation. I wonder if McKenzie would be more effective in relief?
