Going to the game at Goodyear today vs. Oakland. Will report back and hopefully post pictures again.

Today's lineup. Actually I dislike the modern day practice of stacking your best hitters up top.

3/15 vs Oak
0-0

C. Hernandez, 2B
E. Rosario, LF
J. Ramirez, 3B
F. Reyes, DH
J. Naylor, RF
J. Bauers, 1B
A. Gimenez, SS
R. Perez, C
O. Mercado, CF
L. Allen, SP

Bauers and Mercado each with a double and a chance to win starting spots.

Will we really see a lefty in the rotation? Logan Allen 4 shutout innings, 4 hits a walk, 3 strikeouts 1.00 for spring.
Quantrill 2 innings 3 runs 1 earned [Chang error at 3rd] 2 hits 2 walks 2 strikeouts 6.48 ERA Might get another inning's work.

Question: does Quantrill have any options available?

Bauer's double was smoked off the right-center field fence. Almost went out.

Gimenez drilled his triple down the RF line, low line drive. Great hustle all the way to 3B

Fingers crossed Roberto Perez can add some offense in addition to being the best defensive catcher in the game. Grand slam..wow!

Ok, was again at this game but finally left early (7th) after it got away from them due to errors.

Really sad to see Amed Rosario drop 2 fly balls in the outfield. Yet he hit quite well.

I'm sure many of you saw this one so I'll add one more thing and then post pictures. Damn, the Ohtani homerun was dead center over a giant extra high wall there. Didn't realize he was that big.

It was the Angels' A team vs. Tribe B team really. Since it was an Angels' home game lots of Angels pictures too.

In case you couldn't see this on tv. So Tito and Carl Willis set up shop in patio chairs outside the dugout. Tito had a pad to write on - I noticed when Tyler Freeman booted one earlier he took it out and jotted something down.

Well, at the very least it reverts back to the minor league smaller B games for now.

The guy did have 2 hits - maybe we can spin him to a team that will let him go back to SS

Tito said he was holding his glove too low and losing connection with the ball as it dropped the last few feet. If he has any minor league options [which I think he does not have] it would be perfect to send him down to work on his outfielding. But since I don't think that's possible, he learns in practice and doesn't try game time for a while.

I watched the replay of this game, Angels announcers, and I couldn't get over how much they raved over Gimenez.

I think we really got one there gentlemen.

And if so we got 3 extra pieces too - all for a guy who will get $300 million +

This actually doesn't surprise me since our front office has shown they know how to spot young talent in other organizations.

We've really specialized for decades of grabbing guys around AA level and turning them into stars; Sizemore, Santana, Kluber, Clevinger of course immediatley come to mind but far from the only ones. It's weird that we're not so good at drafting outfielders and developing them.
