Well, I have good news and I have bad news. Which do you want first?

Sorry, that was a rhetorical question, you don’t really get to choose. However, I’m gonna give the bad first. So of you wanted the good first you could start at the bottom and work up.

Nick Sandlin - - AAA RH relief pitcher who was supposed to be on the fast track when we drafted him and expected to be in the Tribe bullpen sooner rather than later - - is hurt again. Forearm strain. This is the same injury that caused the Tribe to shut him down a bit to start the season. This time they are shutting him down the rest of the year. Just bad news for the young man.

On the bright side, right handed flamethrower James Karinchak has progressed just as they thought and is expected to be activated in Columbus just after the all star break.

Bradley's hitting 125/192/208 with 11 K in 26 total plate appearances, Not surprising or tragic that he's overmatched in his first trip to the majors. I'd expect him to return to Columbus at the All Star break unless he settles in before that. Greg Allen hitting well currently will take his place and Bauers returns to 1B/DH role. Bobby will be back and could well have a number of backs and forth before we figure out if he's going to make it.

Or maybe like Aguilar he'll "never get a fair chance" and go on to great success elsewhere. Of couse Aguilar is not quite an All Star this year after a great "breakout"

Oh, I hope they don't pull the plug on Bradley yet. He's only had 24 AB's. You can throw BA out the window this early. He goes 4-4 tonight and all of a sudden he's hitting 250 instead of 125.

Just let him fight through it. I've seen nothing to suggest he's over-matched. He'd been hot for quite a while, he was due for a down spell. Let him learn at the school of hard knocks. The way he was dominating AAA he has nothing left to learn there.

Low average and high K's are part of his package. I think we should just deal with it for a bit and see how he grows. Or if he doesn't.

Everyone [maybe Lindor was an exception?] goes back to AAA after a first view in the majors; I'm sure Tito would explain it to Bobby as all part of the growing and learning experience. Greg Allen, similarly, is learning his trade and deserves another shot in the big leagues. Bobby will certainly be back, soon I assume.

Shane Bieber is an All-Star.

He joins the American League team as a replacement for Rangers pitcher Mike Minor. The Indians now have four All-Stars (Santana, Lindor, Hand).

Bieber’s path is incredible, from a walk-on (and barely) to an MLB All-Star:

Carlos Carrasco has been diagnosed with leukemia.

Carrasco has not pitched since the end of May and was placed on the injured list with a non-baseball medical condition, and it was announced that he was dealing with an unspecified blood condition; with the Indians not allowed to comment because it was not related to baseball.

In an interview with a Dominican television station, Carrasco stated that after issues with his energy level, he underwent tests that revealed abnormally high plate levels, and then was diagnosed with the disease at the hospital shortly after. Carrasco also mentioned that the leukemia is currently "under control."

Baseball is secondary to this, of course, but the 32-year-old also stated that he does intend to return at some point, although he doesn't say if 2019 is a possibility.
