At 6-4 170 Oviedo would look fat only next to McKenzie. But let's hope he can stay healthy. He is a part of our highly impressive kiddy corps. He'll get one more start as a teenager but counting his one summer in the Dominican Summer League, he's already exceeded 200 innings.

Was reading a scouting report on James Karinchak and saw this tid bit I hadn't seen yet.

-

He has taken steps to improve his command, allowing just three walks in twelve innings this season. He is also producing ground balls a career-high 56% of the time. He doesn’t allow hitters to barrel his pitches. When hitters make contact, the result is rarely a line drive.

Considering that in 12 innings, he has 30 strikeouts, that means only 6 guys have hit the ball into outs, and three have base hits. All of which means that 9 batters have put the ball in play against JK and therefore a teeny weeny sample. [and specifically 5 balls hit on the ground and 4 in the air But I'm not somplaining

Bobby Bradley hit 2 homers tonight. I saw the video of the second one. Kind of. It was hit so far that I lost it. No idea where it went, other than I know it went over the batters eye in CF. I just saw him hit a ball hard and run around the bases.

Announcer said it went onto Nationwide Boulevard, the street outside the park. The announcer said it might just be the longest home run ever hit at Huntington Park.

It was a monster. Not a Thing type monster. A Godzilla type monster.

Highlights of Tuesday:

Luis Oviedo, RHP, Indians. Oviedo tossed six scoreless innings for low Class A Lake County. The righthander gave up four hits and a walk while collecting nine strikeouts along the way. The Indians’ No. 8 prospect works with a four-pitch mix which includes a mid-90s fastball that has sinking action and a changeup which he shows advanced feel for.

Bobby Bradley, 1B, Indians. Bradley collected four hits for Triple-A Columbus with three RBI and two runs scored. The lefty slugger doubled and had a home run in the fourth inning as well as the eighth inning. The Indians' No. 7 prospect is known for his excellent raw power and is seeing that translate on the field. While he does have some swing and miss to his game, Bradley should soon get some at-bats in the big leagues.

With the major league team in a collapse, it's good to see some positives in the minors folder.

Especially at AAA. Bradley and Haase and Mercado can all be elevated whenever the front office is willing to make some moves. All are on the 40 man roster so they don't even have to DFA anyone to bring them up

And in other news, Nick Sandlin pitches 2 more shutout innings for Akron. 4 K. Now on the season he has pitched 7.1 IP, allowed 1 run, 11 K.

from @indiansPro -

#Indians 18yr old RHP prospect Lenny Torres Jr is currently in Cleveland having his right elbow examined by team doctors. Torres a 1st Rnd pick in the 2018 draft showed diminished velocity during his latest outing in extended spring training. Hopefully precautionary as of now.

#Indians 19yr old (C) prospect Micael Ramirez out of Guatire, Venezuela underwent surgery today after breaking his hamate bone on his left hand. Highly regarded for his bat Ramirez as a pro has slashed .321/.384/.429 over his 1st 47 games. He could be back by early August.

Lynchburg Hillcats 21yr old OF Oscar Gonzalez has a hit in 27 of 29 games in 2019. Gonzalez already w/ two 8 game hitting streaks, extended a current hitting streak to 8 games as well today vs Dash. He has 43(H) 27(RBI) .355(AVG) amazingly he hasn't walked once this season.

One knock on the #Indians 22yr old 1B prospect Bobby Bradley is his ability to hit LHP? So far this season be it a short sample size he's showing maybe he just can. If Bradley proves he can consistently his stock goes way up.
