Jonas Wyatt an impressive 17 year old 6th round draftee in 2015, who missed all of 2016 after surgery, pitched 1 inning in 2017 and made his 2018 debut. Didn't have any success, but at least he was on the mound. Faced 5 batters, struck out one, allowed hits to 4 and left with an ERA of 81. In the remaining week or so perhaps he'll get a chance to throw another 30 pitches.

our 5th round draft choice, Steven Kwan, one of those Brian Giles-look alike OF, made his first plate appearances, walking once.

The new look no-hit RDucks lost again, 3 hits for the offense, the only interesting note is a perfect inning by Lovegrove with 2K.

If I tell you Columbus won 1-0 you can be pretty sure it was Plutko's turn today. He left after 5 1/3 4 hits, 1 walk, 5 strikeout.
Then perfect relief by Olson, 1 2/3, 3K; Taylor 1 ip 1K; Jon Edwards 1 ip, 2 k.

In action: Scrappers are knotted 7-7. now just went ahead 8-7 in the top of the 10th. wait a second, they lost 9-8. Anyway, lines of interest:
are surprisingly few. Henry Pujols 6th homer was a grand slam. Fermin singled and doubled and ddint' walk. Freeman with a single.
Cameron Mingo who seems to start about every 3rd game and is never any good wasn't any good and neither was most of the pen except Luis Santos and Manuel Alvarez.

Kirk McCarty with a well-deserved promotion to Lynchburg and a terrific debut: 6-2-0-0-1-6. Anyone who's left him off the Indians top 30 is nuts. The offense mostly by guys we don't care about. Ernie Clement had a single. Nolan Jones drew 1 walk and struck out the other 3 times up.

Just underway, a late afternoon game in Arizona between the Indians and the Indians. Marcos Gonzalez triple, Steven Kwan walk and Johnnathan Rodriguez single lead to 2 early runs for the 1's. Reynald Delgado with a first inning double for the 2s. I'm torn on this game, I'm rooting for both teams

I found the base stealing in the Arizona game interesting:

vs. Naylor, there were 4 successful steals in 5 tries, including 2 by Jerez which were his first of the season; and 1/2 by the opposing catcher
vs Lavastida, there was 1 successful in 3 tries and one of the caught stealing was the first time Billy Wilson has been caught after 13 successes.

Can't know how much is due to the pitcher, e.g. Naylor's only success was the only one with a reliever on the mound. But maybe Naylor should concentrate on 3rd base so he can move along faster through the system?

Do you have any writeups on Rocchio in the international signing ratings? Maybe you posted one earlier in the summer? Aaron Bracho was the 17 year old SS we were expecting to see with the big breakout this summer but I guess he's been hurt these three months [not playing in the DR either] Rocchio and Marcos Gonzalez will be heading northward next season. I suppose MG will go to LC and BR to MV considering their respective ages. Indians have been willing to be very aggressive moving highly talented SS upward from Jhonny P onwards.
