Totally agree with you about Nelson.

Me personally, I would bring Mejia up and not look back. Perez is hitting .130, and he has not been the stud defender he was in years past. Matter of fact, he has had a hard time just transferring the ball to throw this year. So weird. But his defense is no longer good enough to warrant putting up with his weak hitting. Bring Mejia up and leave him there.

But it doesn't look like they will ...

Sometimes it doesn't take much to make an all-star team. Hentges has been in a slump since April, 18 runs in 29 1/3 innings.
Siri's only pitched 19 2/3 innings and on the down side walked 12 but on the excellent fanned 28,
Capel is currently on the DL but still has nice line: 294/381/433, although he's back into his terrible basestealing mode: caught in 8 of 17 attempts, including all of his 5 tries since the end of April.

Longo's line is not quite as good: 296/344/409
Karinchak ERA is 0 in Lynchburg with 21 K in 12 innings, but that's not a lot of time at this level yet.
Similarly Morgan's stats are better than Hentges but has only been there for a few weeks.

Lynchburg played another game and lost that one, too. For some reason the MILB.com app that I use routinely tells me "no games scheduled" for the International League and sometimes AA too. So I have to wait for morning for Columbus and Akron updates.

Based on yesterday's outings, Bieber may soon be back to Cleveland as the 5th starter. I think that's the inevitable result; Plutko has had a nice season but Bieber's prospective ceiling is far better.

In that other Lynchburg game, the offense was zilch, except for another single for reliable Longo.
Tully with his best start in awhile, 6 innings, 2 runs on six hits, 3 walks and 7 strikeouts.

Nolan Jones' average up to a season high at 253. Benson at least drew another walk, he's good at that.

Some bullpen candidates in action:

In Akron:
Mitch Brown 1 1 0 0 1 2
Lovegrove 1 1 0 0 1 1

Columbus:
Luke Eubank 1 2/3 0 0 0 0 1 1.29
in AAA he's a composite 14 8 4 2 2 10; and while in Akron he fanned 26 in 16 innings.
