The only downside to this is Allen has only got like 70 AAA at bats. He isn't exactly a finished product himself, I think he can be even better. But he's clearly further along than Zimmer now.
I hate to say it but if Zimmer doesn't get humbled by this demotion and work on shortening up and quickening his swing I have doubts he will ever be a good productive major league hitter.
I agree. We have the good fortune of some depth among middle infielders who can be useful trade pieces. Maybe among catchers, too.
Or we can make the kind of trade that people used to always call Pete Franklin suggesting: Tomlin and Roberto Perez and Tyler Naquin and Brandon Guyer and Zach McAllister for some star reliever, let's say.
That is because their pitcher, who is usually throwing Fastballs and giving up the long ball is throwing change up junk and slow curves and has our big swingers tied up as usual when that kind of stuff is thrown at'em.
But Anderson's pulled after the Brantley hit and yield of 1 run [I guess when he's done, he's done] and Jeremy Jeffress comes on.
We could use him: ERA of 0.60, record of 5-0, WHIP of 0.73.
