My wife owns her own clinic but I have nothing to do with it. That's why it's still in business. Me, I work four 10 hour shifts for another company and spend the next 3 days raising hell.

But seriously, she pays a fortune for health care for her nurses. If this new rule helps then that would be awesome.

She does OK for herself but works 13 to 14 hours a day. And she can't take much time off because she or another doctor has to be on hand when people come in to get their shots. (her specialty is allergy, asthma, and immunology. People can have reactions to their allergy shots or even go into anaphylaxis shock, so someone has to be there.)

She wears several hats around her office. She has been wanting to hire a Physician Assistant for some time to help her out so she can work a little less and take more time off but hasn't been able to. If she can start saving money on health coverage for her staff then maybe she will swing it. If anybody deserves a break it is her. Hardest working person I know.

I have no problem with small businesses combining to get better group rates. Sound logical to me but if it was so easy, why didn't it happen years ago? Must be some arguments against it.

One solution for your wife's business ...raise prices.

Looked in this folder today just to get to the end of it so it won't appear on list of folders with updates and I found one important baseball headline that no one appears to have commented on, but then again I skimmed so fast I may have missed commentaries and followups:

Tribe Will Move From Shrinking Island to Louisiana Farm

Indians relocating to a New Orleans suburb??? How come no one else reports this!! The fake media don't pay any attention to the real news.

I would have cut off cash to Pakistan as soon as we killed Bin Laden. No way they didn't know he was there. They've been withholding info and lying for years. Not to mention giving a safe haven to terrorists. They don't deserve a dime.

I'd be interested in hearing the other side of the argument though.

Pakistan....Palestine...what's the difference!

No money for you!

Moron Trump couldn't find Pakistan on a map.

One has a bomb and the other doesn't have a country. Trump doesn't know which is which.

Trump moves to vastly expand offshore drilling off US coasts

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration moved Thursday to vastly expand offshore drilling from the Atlantic to the Arctic oceans with a plan that would open up federal waters off California for the first time in more than three decades. The new five-year drilling plan also could open new areas of oil and gas exploration in areas off the East Coast from Florida to Maine, where drilling has been blocked for decades. While some lawmakers in those states support offshore drilling, the plan drew immediate opposition from governors up and down the East Coast, including Republican Govs. Rick Scott of Florida and Larry Hogan of Maryland, who pressed President Donald Trump to withdraw their states from consideration.

The NRA Raised a Record Amount of Money in 2016
And it spent tens of millions of dollars to get Trump elected.

The National Rifle Association’s political arm set a fundraising record in 2016, taking in a staggering $366 million......In 2016, the NRA devoted huge sums of money to winning back the White House and protecting Republican control of Congress.....They poured more than $54 million into electing GOP candidates up and down the ballot,....

As president, Trump—who benefited from $10 million in NRA spending backing his candidacy and another $19.7 million attacking Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton—has spoken at NRA events and pledged his loyalty to the group. “You came through for me, and I am going to come through for you,” he said at the NRA’s annual meeting last April. “The eight-year assault on your Second Amendment freedoms has come to a crashing end. You have a true friend and champion in the White House.”

Sen. Feinstein Says Trump’s Social-Media Guru “May Have Corresponded With Russian Nationals”

The ranking Democrat on the Judiciary Committee has requested interviews with Dan Scavino and Brad Parscale.

President Donald Trump’s social-media manager, Dan Scavino, “may have corresponded with Russian nationals regarding Trump campaign social media efforts,” Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) wrote Wednesday in a letter asking Scavino to agree to an interview this month with the Senate Judiciary Committee. Feinstein’s letter says the committee, where she is the ranking Democrat, has “received information” regarding Scavino’s potential communications with Russians. The California senator did not elaborate.

Interior Department plans massive expansion of offshore drilling

Jan. 4 (UPI) -- The Interior Department on Thursday proposed vastly expanding offshore oil and natural gas drilling, including in the Gulf of Mexico, the Pacific and Atlantic coasts, and Alaska. Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke announced most of the nation's outer continental shelf is being considered for drilling, including off the coasts of Maine, California, Florida and Alaska. The proposal has drawn opposition from elected officials from both political parties in affected regions, as well as environmentalists, fisheries groups and the Department of Defense.

Luck of the draw helps Republicans hold Virginia House

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Virginia Republicans cheered Thursday when their candidate won a state House of Delegates race by luck of the draw, having his name chosen first out of ceramic bowl. But inside a conference room in Richmond’s Capitol Square, where the drawing was held, it was all agony of defeat and no joy of victory. That’s because Republican David Yancey skipped the drawing, while Democratic challenger Shelley Simonds and many of her supporters absorbed it in stunned silence. The drawing of lots took place after an election, recount and legal battles between Yancey and Simonds ended in a tie. Yancey’s win allows Republicans to maintain a slim majority in the House, though a final tally is still uncertain.

North Korea accepts January 9 talks offer from South Korea

SEOUL (Reuters) - North and South Korea will hold official talks next week for the first time in more than two years after Pyongyang accepted Seoul’s offer for dialogue, just hours after the United States and South Korea delayed a joint military exercise. The talks will be held at the border truce village of Panmunjom and officials from both sides are expected to discuss the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics and the improvement of inter-Korean relations, ministry spokesman Baik Tae-hyun told a regular briefing.

Foes wary as Trump hands election probe to Homeland Security

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — Voting rights advocates and some state election officials cheered President Donald Trump’s announcement that he was disbanding his election fraud commission, but their celebration could be short-lived. Trump spiked the commission late Wednesday amid infighting and refusals by numerous states to cooperate, but at the same time transferred its mission to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. That concerns some election officials and experts who had been critical of the commission. “I am deeply concerned that the work is being shifted over to DHS where it can be done behind closed doors and without the sunshine offered from open public scrutiny,” Vermont Secretary of State Jim Condos, a Democrat, said in a statement Thursday to The Associated Press.

The Supreme Court Is About to Hear a Case That Could Unleash a New Wave of Voter Purges

Millions of Americans could be kicked off the voter rolls.

When it comes to purging names from the voter rolls, the state of Ohio is second-to-none. Since becoming secretary of state in 2011, Republican Jon Husted has excised more than 2 million voters from the state’s registration lists.

On Wednesday, the US Supreme Court will hear arguments in a high-stakes case over whether one of Husted’s controversial methods for removing voters violates federal law.

And if the court sides with Husted, it will open the door for states across the country to use what amounts to a legal loophole to cancel the registrations of millions more Americans. ARE ALL THOSE VOTERS DEMOCRATS ?? THE POOR ?? ETHNIC GROUPS ????????

[ trump's stacking the court systems with conservative judges could be a big problem for voters - I guess that's one way to keep the Republican in control in Washington - it's becoming an uneven playing field - We're heading down a dark path - ]

“use it or lose it”

Civil rights groups say that Ohio’s policy discriminates against minorities, who tend to vote less often, and that it prevents eligible voters from casting ballots. According to a Reuters analysis of voter rolls in Ohio’s three largest counties, people in Democratic neighborhoods were struck from the rolls at twice the rate of people in Republican areas. Moreover, Reuters notes, “neighborhoods that have a high proportion of poor, African-American residents are hit hardest.” Five other states use similar processes to purge their voter rolls, but Ohio’s program is the most aggressive.

Judge rejects request for new vote in Virginia House race

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) — A federal judge on Friday rejected a request for a new election that might have forced a 50-50 split in Virginia’s House of Delegates, calling ballot mistakes cited by Democrats a “garden-variety” problem that doesn’t merit federal intervention.Democrats had hoped a new election in the 28th District would provide an opportunity for an even split in the chamber, which is now on track to be controlled by a 51-49 GOP majority.

If trump were given a tax cut bill test consisting of 100 questions with 25% correct answers being a passing grade, do you think trump would pass the test? How about the constitution? The environment? Pick a subject! I'd like to see that high IQ trump claims he has put to the test. My point! Does trump actually know what he's signing?

10 wild claims about Trump's White House from the upcoming book 'Fire and Fury'

2. One of Trump's earliest campaign aides tried to educate the candidate about the Constitution, but Trump grew too bored to make it past the Fourth Amendment:
"Early in the campaign, Sam Nunberg was sent to explain the Constitution to the candidate. 'I got as far as the Fourth Amendment," Nunberg recalled, "before his finger is pulling down on his lip and his eyes are rolling back in his head.'"

FIRE AND FURY

of his populist promises, and confirmation of what Mitch McConnell had seen early on as the silver Trump lining: "He'll sign anything we put in front of him."

As the first year wound down, Trump finally got a bill to sign. The tax bill, his singular accomplishment, was, arguably, quite a reversal of his populist promises, and confirmation of what Mitch McConnell had seen early on as the silver Trump lining: "He'll sign anything we put in front of him." With new bravado, he was encouraging partisans like Fox News to pursue an anti-Mueller campaign on his behalf. Insiders believed that the only thing saving Mueller from being fired, and the government of the United States from unfathomable implosion, is Trump's inability to grasp how much Mueller had on him and his family.
