Below are point totals for the American League Most Valuable Player Award balloting, as voted on by members of the Baseball Writers' Association of America. Ballots were submitted from two writers in every AL city before the start of the postseason.

The system rewards 14 points for first place, nine for second place, eight for third place, and so on, through one point for 10th place.
