Agree. You only have to look back at last year's World Series to see how fictitious the home field advantage can be.

So yeah, rather have it. But not essential by any means.

CLEVELAND– Dwyane Wade is in the market for a new team and reports indicate he’s joining the Cavaliers.

That could be good news for the Indians too. How so?

In 2003, Wade signed his contract with the Miami Heat. That same year, the city’s MLB counterpart won the World Series.

Last year, the Chicago native returned home to play with the Bulls. Then the Cubs broke their championship drought and beat the Indians in a historic World Series.

D-Wade even acknowledged the trend in a tweet last year.

On Tuesday, ESPN reported Wade is nearing a commitment to sign with Cleveland and the deal could be finalized as early as Wednesday.

As for the Indians, they clinched the AL Central and have home field advantage for the American League Division Series. They also set a new AL record with 22 straight wins and have the second-best record in baseball.

I had just got up when the pregame show started and was just semi-conscious without my first cup of coffee yet. But I am pretty sure I heard Andre Knott report that Brantley ran TODAY and showed video of him in batting cage. I think he said they want to get him in a game this weekend and hope to have him on ALDS roster to use as pinch hitter.

Knott just reported during game that Chiz is available to pinch hit tonight and will probably start tomorrow.

Brantley will probably run again on Thursday and pinch hit over weekend if everything goes well.

The Tribe's 99 regular season wins this year are the most by a Terry Francona-led team. Tito's 2004 Red Sox team won 98 games.

Lindor, since start of 2016, is hitting .323 (193-for-597) at Progressive Field.

Jose Ramirez's 53 doubles are tied with Grady Sizemore for 3rd most in Tribe history: George Burns 64 and Tris Speaker 59 are 1 and 2.

Speaking of Frankie, if he in fact did turn down $1 Million for a 10 year contract, how much is he worth? While he doesn't seem to project out as a 30 + homer guy, his contributions are very obvious. Can you compare him to Arod? Is a $250 - $300 million contract for 10 years reasonable? Anyone have any thoughts along those lines?

The sky will be his limit. I agree that he doesn't project as a 30+ homer per year guy, but he did that this year and why should he get worse as he moves only into his mid 20s. Age 28 seems to be the most commonly recognized peak of a hitter' career although obviously results vary.

Combination of his offense, his defense, his enthusiasm which has got to add energy to the clubhouse and certainly attracts fan, and there's only a handful of players who are worth more. Harper and Trout and......??

Although offensive numbers for many current Tribe players has far exceeded the norm, try to remember it's also a league-wide offensive heyday. The obviously juiced baseball, lousy pitching or undetected PEDs cast some doubt about individual records.

I don't care about individual stats. I just want to see the Tribe pound the shit out of their opponents and I don't care who does what.
