And one last note on home field. We went into today 2 games ahead of Astros, but add one game to that because we beat the Astros head to head this season, and that is first tie breaker. So might as well say we are 3 games ahead.

Same thing with Dodgers. Add one game to their lead over us, which is currently 1.5 games. Because they beat us head to head this year.

Chiz will either pinch hit tonight or tomorrow.
Brantley will begin running later this week.
Guyer will begin hitting this week.
so of the three only Chiz will appear in a game. It seems incredibly unlikely that the other two have any chance of being on the playoff roster. They may be able to ship Guyer down to Arizona to play with the Instructional League kids and have him for later rounds. As for Brantley "beginning running later this week" doesn't sound like he's anywhere near "engaging in baseball activities". We'll see him in Goodyear next February unless something else goes wrong.

And good point there. It's like the recent Bryce Harper injury (knee) - running the bases full speed was the last hurdle before he could play since he was doing the other stuff before that.

We do have to remember the wildcard games themselves aren't even until next Wednesday and Thursday.

Right now, the only other NL team that can catch up to the Indians in victories is the S̶e̶n̶a̶t̶o̶r̶s̶ Nationals. With 5 games to go, we've won 98, and the Nats have 95.

Park Factor compares the rate of stats at home vs. the rate of stats on the road. A rate higher than 1.000 favors the hitter. Below 1.000 favors the pitcher. Teams with home games in multiple stadiums list aggregate Park Factors.

PF: ((homeRS + homeRA)/(homeG)) / ((roadRS + roadRA)/(roadG))
homeRS: Runs scored at home
homeRA: Runs allowed at home
homeG: Home games
roadRS: Runs scored on the road
roadRA: Runs allowed on the road
roadG: Road games
