Salazar had thrived in his first five starts after returning from the disabled list July 22, allowing a total of five earned runs over 32 1/3 innings with a 46-to-9 K/BB ratio in that span.

8163Okaaay I think we found a spot for Tomlin after all civciv ollilavad wrote:When I read that Tomlin is close to ready to return to active duty, it was the first I had thought of his existence since he went on the DL. I prefer Clevinger as our 5th starter, but Mike can be really really bad as well as really really good. So I suppose there may be some small benefit by Tomlin's return.

Re: General Discussion
8164Wow, 3 of them! Just what we need to win the Series. Last year when both Carrasco and Salazar went on the DL, Paul Hoynes and I both wrote off the chances to go all the way. Missed by just one 1 inning. Now if we lost our No. 3 starter, No. 1 reliever and starting 1st baseman we have even more reason not to win, so I guess we will.
Wait I think I read it more closely the second time through. that's only 2 on the DL. Santana I guess is only going to be resting a few days, which means Yandy is just getting a few days back in the majors, before his 4th shot come September 1.

Re: General Discussion
8165I guess you're right TFIR, it worked last year to have Josh as one of our 3 starters still standing. Doesn't make me comfortable, but so be it.
Re: General Discussion
8166I would like to hurry Chisenhall back since we know Brantley's rehab will last well into September and perhaps beyond.

Re: General Discussion
8170Kipnis will get MRI on right hamstring Wednesday. Salazar MRI came back clean.
Re: General Discussion
8171We have a 5 game lead in the division, and it's almost September. I'm in favor of giving the injured players rest unless we need them. I'd rather have Miller and Salazar healthy for the postseason.
Re: General Discussion
8172I was at the Indians game last night, and saw the paver that the Tribe forum bought for Jim, and the plaque for Steve Olin and Tim Crews, which may have part of him in it!
Re: General Discussion
8173I had totally forgot about that brick until I saw your Facebook post, J.R. Thanks.
Re: General Discussion
8174Oh, I thought you checked it out the last time I met you at the ballpark?
Re: General Discussion
8175No, I checked it out after it was done but had since forgotten about it. I wish I had checked it out. Maybe next time I'm in town.
