When he was with the Scrappers, the radio announcer was already citing him as gold glove caliber defender. That may me his biggest fan and I've been hoping ever since he'd develop as maybe a 270-20-80 hitter. I've read some reports that his vision is so good that no pitch fools him, so he can reach them all and swings at them all, thus resulting in way too few walks and a low average. Does that make sense? Anyway the bat just doesn't seem to make it. If he had enough power to give him a decent slugging average to make up for a low on base pct maybe he'd make it. Not yet and don't know if there's any evidence of offensive improvement over the past couple years since his big league debut

Why did I think we had the night off? I skipped the game but liked the results I found this morning.
Kluber probably trails Sale for Cy Young but this is his 3rd year in 4 to likely rank among the top 3 in the AL.
We never could have imagined that he'd become this much of a star.
And he's grossly underpaid for the job he's done by current standards. I'll be happy for him when he finally gets his big payoff, even if it comes from the Yankees or Dodgers: he is worth every million.

Bauer was originally the scheduled starter. But Kluber didn't like this 6 man rotation thing. Kluber wants to work every 5th day. And Kluber gets what he wants. They they moved the rotation around again and Kluber got the start.

I wonder if the 6 man rotation and all the scuffling of guys constantly got in his head a bit or screwed with his prep last start. Cause it wasn't near what he's been doing in every other start lately. Bet he went to Francona and said screw this stuff, I want ball every 5th day.

Exciting finish and great game, unfortunately we did not come out on top. 2-1.

I was surprised he put McCallister in the game to start the 8th. First two hitters were lefties. I expected to see Olsen for first two hitters then Goody or McCallister to face Judge. Headly, lefty, hit solo shot that ended up winning run.

But the btm of 9th was interesting. Brantley led off with single, turning on a 101 mph fastball. Jose hit one to wall in left that Gardner jumped up and caught. And Santana hit one off the wall in RF that was 2 foot foul.
