PHEW!! Incredibly bad signing by O's

Alec Asher is scheduled to start for the Orioles on Sunday instead of Ubaldo Jimenez.

While there has been no official announcement from the team yet, it's safe to assume that the veteran right-hander has been bumped from the O's starting rotation, as Sunday had been his scheduled day to pitch.

He owns a cringe-worthy 7.11 ERA and 32/25 K/BB ratio through 42 2/3 innings on the season.

In all fairness Encarnacion has shown some signs of life recently. Has a 7 game hitting streak and hitting .391 over that span, with 2 homers and 4 RBI.

He, and everybody else, has to do better with runners in scoring position though. The offense as a whole has stunk in that regard. They did today!

Another good day for the offense. Good to see Jose Ramirez string a couple of games together again. Kipnis of course rounding into form finally. Even Santana with better at bats, and of course Gomes is no longer a corpse.

I agree with HB that the offense in general has kind of weighed them all down...

Hitting is contagious for sure and we are seeing signs of (more consistent) life finally. And with a good Carrasco start, Kluber on the way, Tomlin throwing such a great game...the signs are pointing towards a better June.
