Out here in Montana I can watch the Indians broadcast on STO as long as it's on there even when they are on a national broadcast, like FS1 or ESPN.
It is totally different for NBA and NHL on their package on DirecTV. If the Cavaliers are playing on ESPN, TNT, or NBA Channel I cannot watch game on Fox Sports Ohio. They make me watch the national broadcast. If the Blue Jackets are playing on NBC, NBC Sports, or NHL Channel I have to watch that broadcast too. They will not let me watch on Fox Sports Ohio.
But baseball is different. If Indians are on ESPN, FS1, or MLB channel I can still watch it on STO. It is different on Saturdays. If Fox chooses the Indians as one of their games of the week that they might broadcast then the game is not on STO here. I have to watch on FS1, if it is even broadcast. Some times the Indians game is not the first choice but a back up choice. The game is not on FS1, but it is not on STO either. Then I am screwed. (they show games from your region usually, so I am stuck watch a game from a team out west here)
If the Indians are playing the Mariners I have to watch game on Seattle sports network, Root. Because Seattle is the local team and Root is the local sports network.
