Too many fat pitches JR. Those pitches are getting us in a lot of trouble.

I agree, the Astros are pretty good at not chasing pitches out of the strike zone, but, they are also very good at staying alive and fouling off those pitches until they see a pitch they can hit a la Ramirez and Brantley for us.

Carrasco, Salazar, and Bauer are fastball pitchers and really aren't skilled at controlling the corners. They rely pretty much on speed to get batters out. Therefore, too many pitches over the fat part of the plate. I think all three could be more effective if they could hit the inner half or outer half of the plate with more consistency instead of pitching down the middle. Now, Kluber and Allen on the other hand are very good at controlling the corners.

Excellent ball game. Well played. When Devenski came in, I thought it was over but Lindor had other thoughts. The two run homer wins it and the Ice Man picks up another save. The stare down Lindor laid down on Devenski was priceless.

Gomes with a key, key play throwing out Altuve or the game would have been tied in the 9th. As well, threw out Aoki from his knees earlier in the game.

My point? No wonder Lucroy was worried about maybe being used at another position. He knew. Catching is about defense and the Indians have 2 of the very best.

Two at bats that will go un-noticed was Gomes' walks that turned the lineup over twice. Two plays that will be noticed was Gomes' two throw outs on the two attempted steals. None larger than picking off Altuve in the ninth after he lead the inning off with an infield single. That was HUGE!
