We are doing pretty well tonight against a guy who entered the game with an ERA of .096!joez wrote:I know how we can shorten our ball games. Forfeit all games against all southpaw starters.

18768JR! Were we watching the same game? That was one of the most dominant games I've seen pitched against this team in a long time. You just don't get any better than that.

18769And yet we got 2 homers off of him, and almost a third, if Reddick hadn't made that catch!
Re: GameTime!™
18770The two most dependable hitters we have right now are Michael Brantley and Jose Ramirez. You are not going to win these close ball games with two hitters in the lineup.

18771We didn't lose to Keuchel just b/c he's a lefty. He's 4-0 this season, and was the CY winner 2 years ago.
Re: GameTime!™
18773This is going to be a long season if we don't start hitting left handed pitching. I thought we had this thing all figured out during spring training.

18774Oh! Not true! I'm giving all the credit to the pitchers. The articles I posted above explain exactly what is going on with pitchers and how they control the strike zone. Not just the left handed pitchers but also the right handed pitchers. It's up to the hitters to solve the problems.

Re: GameTime!™
18775Its just softer tossing lefties IMHO, we do pretty good vs Sale and other hard throwing ones. Bring Merritt up with extra duty pay (not a roster change) and let him pitch serious batting practice so we can learn how to hit the junk on the outside corner.
Re: GameTime!™
18776I think our pitchers should get with the program and stop throwing the ball over the plate so often. Follow the pitch cast and see how many strikes are called against us that are out of the strike zone.

18777I was tired of seeing Shaw this time last year, I'm really really tired of seeing him.
Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everyone you meet.
Re: GameTime!™
18778Well! It wasn't pretty but when you win a baseball game against one of the league's best teams with your #5 starter, you gotta like that.

18779Impressive hitting tonight. I think I counted 9 opposite field hits. Even EE got one.

18780I don't know if you heard the Indians telecast, but Underwood was saying that the Astros are very good at NOT chasing pitches out of the strike zone.joez wrote:I think our pitchers should get with the program and stop throwing the ball over the plate so often.
