Cub fans preparing for next year's world series in a sold out Progressive Field filled with the enemy - a Trojan horse? :P

So nice to use this folder again. Let's go Tribe in 2017!

Zimmer had himself a day today. Last I watched he was 2-3 with a walk, single, and 3 run homer. 5 RBI altogether.

Yandy came in mid game. He was 1-2 with a double to right-center last I saw.

Clevinger and Armstrong both looked good on the mound.

Oh, and that new guy, Encarnacion, had 2 singles.

I only saw first 7+ innings. On again tomorrow.

I'll be happy with 90 wins if it means winning the division.

Gomes and Perez continue, unfortunately, in last season form. Each is 0-3 today with Yan serving as the DH and both remain hitless for the early spring. Yan managed a ground out, a pop out and a strikeout today. Roberto a ground out, strikeout and a fly out

For the the Spring Training stats don't matter argument, Dan Robertson with a pair of his today is now at 333

Has only played two months, or less, in AA, so clearly not going to make the team this spring, but he added some power last year to his great speed game, walks plenty and has been considered a terrific defensive CF from day one and has moved up a long way on prospect lists this year.

BA projects him as part of our starting outfield, along with Naquin in LF and Zimmer in RF, in the not distant future. That's an excellent defensive group with lots of speed. Allen even adds the unusual component of hitting right handed [and left handed].

I agree with everything you said, Civ. So just to be clear, I never said or insinuated he should make the club this spring. Just that he's been overlooked, IMO. Kind of overshadowed by Frazier and Zimmer. Now that Frazier is gone he is starting to get more respect. (I'm not so sure I don't like his prospects more than Zimmers..?)

I just took the time to think about it. There are three minor league players that I personally would bring up to start the season on the 25. One is Armstrong in the pen. The other two are Diaz and Gonzalez.

Diaz would replace Guyer as the righty in the corner OF, and back up 3rd base. Gonzalez would replace Martinez as the back up middle infielder and pinch runner.

Guyer did a great job for us last year, but he is 30 and Yandy has proved he is ready for his shot, and I think he's got a good future. Gonzalez has earned his shot too. And replacing Martinez is a much easier decision.

I could see Tito starting the season with Armstrong easily, and maybe even Gonzalez. But Yandy will be trickier. Guyer has performed well and Tito likes his vets.

My 25

Gomez
Encarnacion
Kipnis
Lindor
Ramirez

Brantley
Naquin
Chisenhall

Perez
Santana
Gonzalez
Yandy
Almonte

Kluber
Salazar
Carrasco
Tomlin
Bauer

McCallister
Otero
Armstrong
Logan
Shaw
Miller
Allen
