6873If I remember correctly, he had finally started making good contact when he got hurt. Remember there was a time he kept getting robbed on balls he actually square up on. Couldn't get a break.Hillbilly wrote:Can we please get a friggin break and get this guy back soon hitting the way we know he can.

That's as close as I can get to optimism on that one.

6876I'll copy this from Minors in case someone don't follow that folder ...
Yan Gomes was 2-3 with a double, an RBI and 2 runs.

Re: General Discussion
6877Thanks for putting that here HB
One way the whole Lucroy mess can be spun positively is if Gomes comes back and plays like he can. In the meantime the team held on and we keep Frankie as a bonus.
We do know that Gomes plays well defensively and the pitchers like him.

Re: General Discussion
6878Lucroy would be in Cleveland if the FO assured Lucroy would be the catcher next year and not the replacement for Napoli at first. The only reason the FO traded for him was they seen him as a cheap replacement for Napoli next year.

6879Corey Kluber named AL Pitcher of the Month
Tribe starter Corey Kluber, who's making a serious case to win his second AL Cy Young Award, has been named the AL Pitcher of the Month for August.
Kluber went 5-0 with 44 strikeouts and a 2.43 ERA in August, holding opponents to a .224 average.
Corey hasn't lost a game since July 3, going 7-0 with a 1.94 ERA in 10 starts. Opponents have hit .216 in that span.
Kluber also won the award in September 2014.

He's okay for the back end of the rotation.

6882Lindor has 22 3-hit games this season. More than anyone else in baseball.
He also has the 8th best fWAR in all of baseball.

Re: General Discussion
6883Assuming the Tribe continues its winning ways, Lindor is a legitimate top 10 guy in the MVP race.

Re: General Discussion
6884ESPN story on the MVP race listed Lindor in the second five, with guys like Altuve [the favorite], Donaldson and Trout at the head of the pack, naturally.
Re: General Discussion
6885Altuve needs a piss test not a trophy. Have a hard time believing a dude that tiny hits 22 homers first 5 months of season.
