Well, we definitely had our chances yesterday. It was really annoying sitting among so many Red Sox fans at the ballpark yesterday. I really wanted the Indians to come back and win, so they would shut up!
But our record against the East bothers me, too.

J.R.:

My step dad is a huge Boston fan, and my mom is the biggest baseball fan and BoSox fan I know. She literally doesn't miss an inning, let alone a game. If I call her during a BoSox game she scolds me. Seriously. I wanted that win yesterday in a big way too.

At least I have bragging rights in this house this year.

Tell you want, great research, but personally not worried.

I am not worried because in a short playoff series, it all comes down to pitching.

And in a short series, if Carrasco, Kluber and Salazar are throwing well, this team can totally beat anyone. None of those teams have a top 3 starters like that.

If the Cavs taught us anything, it was that regular season is a totally different animal than playoffs.

IMO the essence of the win over Chisox:

1. Kluber not with his best stuff, runs up pitch count but battles and leaves after 6, up 2-1

2. Andrew Miller. Are you kidding me? He comes in in the 7th, again completely deflates the opponent and buzzes through 2 innings on only 16 pitches. (are those cobwebs I see on Brian Shaw?) Again Cody closes.

3. Interesting note, Kipnis hitting .300 on the year vs lefties. And quality lefty Quintana bites the dust.

4. They steal 3 more bases, one by Almonte.

OK, I have a suggestion for the front office. Awesome trade for Miller, please don't do a damn thing else.

Almonte has to be replaced TFIR.......before the trade deadline. Puig, in my opinion, will be available. I believe Francona can take care of the baggage. If you can't play for Francona, you won't be able to play for anyone. Longshot would be Soler.

In Almonte's defense there, he is out of position in corner outfield. As well, we can all name bonehead errors by all members of the team.

Overall, I agree with Civ, he's been quite a help.

Obviously thought has to be given to the fact that he can't play postseason, but we do still need to get there as well. Pretty sure Tito will figure it out, and far more intelligently than myself - so I'll abstain on that one.

Yeah, not something that would have showed up in box score. He was on a dead run so I think both were ruled doubles. But a good OF'er would have caught both.

He has been hot offensively lately, indeed. I'd still prefer bringing Yandy up to platoon against lefties. get some experience before postseason, but maybe it's just me.

And BTW, Guyer looks to be a hell of a pick up against lefties.
