I was traveling back home from Cape Cod when the big trade and non-trade went down. Wow, this forum hasn't sn such activity since the good ol days! Even kenm made an appearance and appeared to praise the front office?!?
Great showing to get Miller, and we would also have had Lucroy if he hadn't nixed the deal. How amazing that would be! I wish we could have gotten Frazier or Bruce, or some proven bat, though.
I've heard a few media "experts" say that losing Lucroy might cost us the playoffs, since we may have to face TX, and they are now the better team.

And Salazar is on the DL now, so I hope Bauer can find his form again!

Of course, it would be nice to beat the TWINS a couple times, too. We have the Tigers' number this year, but can't beat the worst team in the Central??

MRI found nothing but inflammation. Rest, take anti inflammatories and give it a go down the line.

Guys on MLB Network were loving the Guyer pickup actually. Enables Jose Ramirez to go to 3B, so it's a win all around.

About time ...

The Indians optioned RHP Austin Adams to Triple-A Columbus and recalled RHP Shawn Armstrong.

CLEVELAND-- Minutes after allowing a two-run homer in the ninth inning on Tuesday, Austin Adams knew his fate.

The Indians optioned the right-hander to Triple-A Columbus and recalled RHP Shawn Armstrong, who was originally part of the trade to acquire C Jonathan Lucroy from the Milwaukee Brewers.

The 25-year-old right hander has pitched 41.1 innings for Triple-A Columbus this season, earning six saves and a 2.18 ERA in 40 outings. He was named a Triple-A All-Star, allowing just 26 hits and 10 earned runs with 62 strikeouts this season.

He appeared in one game with the Indians this season.

Adams, meanwhile, has allowed 13 runs on 18 hits in 15.1 innings for the Indians this season, compiling a 7.04 ERA.

The Indians will have an additional roster move coming on Thursday to allow for RHP Michael Clevinger to be added to the team's 25-man roster and the rotation.

Akron gets beat in an afternoon affair today, 9-6. Merryweather had a horrible 1st inning, giving up 5 runs. His defense let him down though, only 3 of the 8 total runs he gave up were earned. Nellie and Hankins both with errors. ... Allen went 2-5 and Papi went 2-4, both had a double.

Indians have really been a team of streaks this year.

4/22 - 4/24 Won 3
4/29 - 5/1 Lost 3
5/3 - 5/6 W4
5/16 - 5/20 W5
5/21 - 5/23 L3
5/23 - 5/25 W3
5/29 - 5/31 L3
6/1 - 6/6 W6
6/13 - 6/15 L3
6/17 - 7/1 W14
7/22 - 7/24 L3
7/29 - 7/31 W3
8/1 - 8/3 L3

That is only streaks of 3 or more. There were a bunch of 2 game wins & losses in there too. This team has been doing it all year, but thankfully winning more than losing.

Matter of fact, the fact that I saw how streaky they were this year saved me some money. I went into work one night and a dude I work with is a huge Mariners fan. We were in Seattle for a 4 game series, and had just won game 1 of that series, which made it 6 games in a row. My co-worker wanted to make a bet on the remaining 3 games, best of 3. I told him no, cause Tribe had been streaky all year and were due for their losing streak. Told him we'd be losing 2 or 3 in a row any day now. Sure as shit, we lost next 2 games.

Anyway, hopefully we start a nice streak with our win today. We have played well on road this year.
