Tigers won again tonight. We don't play them again until September (7 games)
August will be a crucial month for us!
Re: GameTime!™
16832If I'm not mistaken, the Orioles have lost 5 straight since our series.
Meanwhile the Tribe chugs right along.

Re: GameTime!™
16834Yeah I was out and about when the game was on, heard whats his name for the other team hit 3 HR's....I think it was like the 5th or 6th inning.

Re: GameTime!™
16835Uh-oh. Carrasco is pitching like Salazar was last night! Does he have a sore arm, too?
Re: GameTime!™
16836They just keep pitching Kepler inside! He's killing everything in there. Stupid.
They said Callaway just read Perez the riot act after the inning, pointing to scounting report. Most likely telling him to quit calling pitches in there to him.

Re: GameTime!™
16839We are going as far as our starting rotation will take us. Not many 5-man rotations make it through an entire season with no injuries.
Our offense was operating with smoke and mirrors so far. I think the front office waited a tad too long to fill our holes. I hope that doesn't come back to bite us in the ass.
If it happens (and it can only happen in Cleveland), we will be one of the few team that would lose a 7 game lead at the all star break.
It's time for all to step it up!

Re: GameTime!™
16840In the last 21 Major League seasons dating back to the first full year of the Wild Card Era in 1995, 123 teams have held at least a half-game lead in their divisions at the All-Star break. Of those 123 leaders, 79 of them -- or 64 percent -- have gone on to win division titles.
Furthermore, 71 percent of World Series participants (30 of 42) in that same span were division champions, signifying that winning your division should remain a primary goal -- even in this recent age of increased playoff spots.
The largest All-Star-break deficit overcome during the Wild Card era was 11 games.
4(t). 1995 Mariners Deficit: 5 games back.
4(t). 2002 A's Deficit: 5 games back.
4(t). 2001 Indians Deficit: 5 games back.
3. 2003 Twins Deficit: 7 1/2 games back.
2. 2012 A's Deficit: 9 games back.
1. 2006 Twins Deficit: 11 games back.

Re: GameTime!™
16841Well, Austin Adams just gave this one away.
Tigers win big again.
Maybe the Tribe is trying to prove JOEZ worng?

Re: GameTime!™
16843And last week Francona bawled him out for flat-footed throw to first. Apparently he doesn't know how to play the position. I thought he was a good defender.Callaway just read Perez the riot act
Re: GameTime!™
16844Last night was more about his pitch calling than defense. How do you keep calling pitches inside to Babe Kepler?!
Lack of urgency in Tribe brass is really starting to bug me.
Uribe was kept around far too long. Yandy should have been brought up long before trade deadline.
Adams is the stereotypical gasoline on fire pitcher. What the hell they're keeping him around for I can't figure out. They should bring Armstrong up, he's been killing it in Columbus recently. 12 straight scoreless innings if I remember correctly.
When the Lucroy deal fell through they should have done something else. They had a day & a half, and sure they had talks with teams prior.
They act like they had this thing sowed up and that is not the case at all. 3 game lead over Detroit now. And dropping by the day.
I realize they cry poor and they are small market and they don't want to bring guys up and start the clock ticking, blah blah blah But years like this you should throw that out the window. We have legit shot at playoffs and they should be showing more of a sense of urgency in making a push for it.
Everyone is happy we got Miller and that was a ballsy move but this team had more holes than that, and still do.

Re: GameTime!™
16845After all the innings the bullpen worked on Salazar day, I was certain there'd be a move for Tuesday, and was startled that Adams and Anderson were both still on hand. Armstrong has control issues but has been getting guys out, is a fresh arm and Adams certainly hasn't cut it.
