I've been a Bauer supporter but he's beginning to get on my nerves. I realize that he's still younger than Kluber or Carrasco when they started having success. But he has talent and needs to stop thinking so much.

Cleveland starters have yielded four runs while striking out 28 and walking three over 32 1/3 innings against Detroit this season. Bauer (1-0, 5.28 ERA), though, has a 6.94 ERA in going 2-2 over seven starts against the Tigers.
The right-hander wasn't much better in relief April 24 at Detroit, when he gave up two runs and four hits over 3 1/3 innings but managed to earn the win.

In his first 2016 start at Philadelphia on Saturday, Bauer yielded three runs, five hits and two walks over four-plus innings and 78 pitches of the 4-3 loss. Despite those numbers, Bauer saw at least something positive to take forward.

"I thought I hit my spots pretty well (Saturday), actually," he told MLB's official website. "I feel like if I throw the ball that way all year, I'll have a good year."

Ian Kinsler and J.D. Martinez have had good career success against Bauer, going a combined 14 for 35 with a home run each.

Should I blame the Republicans?
Blame the Indians. They want earlier starts in April and May b/c of cold weather, and kids in school. Not that it seems to be helping attendance. Tomorrow's game v. KC starts at 7:10 though.

The game times were set months ago. How would they know if or when the Cavs would have playoff games?

I read the reasons I mentioned in a Facebook comment by the Indians.

And the guy struck out the side in the first inning, 3 straight.

Last night, it all went Bauer's way. Considering the adjustment he had to make both IN and OUT of the bullpen, he's really showing promise again.

The umpire was giving him the "high strike", and that helped (they WERE strikes, but you don't always get them) but he really had it going in general.
