Pretty excited that Byrd went deep. That guy is big time strong.

Then Rajai Davis, after stealing 2 bases earlier, goes deeeeep too!

Also excited at the veteran RH bats this team went out and got.

Without those 2 guys today, this game is one just like last year. No offense on either side.

With them, 4-0

Haha, HB my friend. (And those who don't know us - it really is the case)

I really do believe our core youth needed the veteran examples, and yes being RH batters with pop all the better.

And as you know, as a fantasy player, I am only too aware of limited sample size.

But I like Napoli's at bats, Byrd took a pitch way out that required lots of muscle because it was toward center and the pitch location, and Rajai helps to add another dimension we didn't have last year - speed.

OK, all that said, I realize all that remains to be seen over the long haul. But I figure if I can't be optimistic about my favorite team during the first week+ of the season, then it's pretty pathetic.

I remembered Lee and Sizemore. How could I forget Brandon Phillips. What a dumbbell that Wedgieee is? I guess Phillips was not a grinder or gritty or didnt play the game the right way. Amazing that he his still hitting 280. Where is Wedgeee now?

In retropect it is amazing that we have been in the playoffs twice since we dumped Manny and gave up.
