So Allen went through a hot streak after a slow start where he was damn near unhittable. But he comes in and blows it today. This following Kluber blowing up after we finally get him some offense. This definitely is just not our year.
There really has been a number of freakish stuff this year.

I am going to include the Gomes injury, Brantley nagging injury and Santana's sucky season in that category as well.

Sometimes it just isn't meant to be, or as HB puts it, "not our year".

Truly the only real positives have been the starting pitching potential, Lindor, and Kipnis. And I don't think I am leaving anything out sadly.

I was actually just trying to say there is going to be no second half surge this year. No miracle finish. Just ain't happening for this team.

And yes, one of the main reasons is because the offense sucks. but hell, even when they do score enough to win the Cy Young winner or our hot closer blows it. Whole team seems to be imploding.

.

@tpaquette_IID: Indians RHP @DannySalazar67 has been tremendous over his last 5 starts:
- 35.1(IP) 17H 8R 6ER 10BB 35SO 1.53 ERA

.

He is 2-2 those 5 starts. Just crazy.

When you say "It's not our year", you are saying luck is against us.
"Sucks" is simply a way of saying that the production hasn't been there. That's obvious. It is not a statement of cause.

But a nagging Brantley injury, a far below his baseball card season by Santana, and Gomes out for 6+ weeks is bad luck.

A poor season is going to be a combination of bad luck and poor production. A good season is going to be a combination of both.

Case in point, the KC Royals last year. And SF Giants. Getting through a random 1 game wild card game and near injury free seasons to go all the way to the Series.

It wasn't bad luck for Kyrie Irving AND Kevin Love to not be there with Lebron in the Finals?

How often to players and managers say, and you can see it, that "when we hit we don't pitch, and when we pitch we don't hit".

Luck happens. I actually think the year the Tribe got into the wildcard that luck happened quite often in it's favor!

So I am with HB in that sometimes you can see that seasons just aren't meant to be. Crazy stuff happens, and not in a good way.

For sure, TFIR. The nagging back problem to our MVP candidate has definitely sapped him of some power this year. Our silver slugger winning catcher has battled injuries and not been able to hit his way out of a wet paper bag this year. Our all star 2nd baseman now has a shoulder problem. The team spent big money on Bourn and Swisher and both happened to fall off the planet at the same time.

This team is having its share of some bad luck too.

That's all I am saying. Stuff happens. And I am adding in Santana's fall off the earth. That kind of production from your 1B, on a struggling offensive team anyways, just won't work.
