Friday games:

http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.js ... d=20150619

Starting pitching:

Nick Maronde 4 2/3- 3 - 1- 1- 3- 11 [pretty good return to the rotation!]
Mike Clevinger 6-4-2-2-0-8 [we got him in a minor league trade last year; looks promising]
Casey Shane 4-3-1-0-1-4

Bullpen:
C C Lee 1 2/3 0 0 0 0 3 2.49
Armstrong 2 0 0 0 0 3 8 saves
Jeff Johnson in Akron 1 0 0 0 0 1 1.69 era 10 saves
James Stokes in his 4th season with Mahoning Valley, might be a record: 2 2/3-0-1-1-6-3 control a bit off

At bat:

Aguillar 9th homer
Wolters 2nd homer
Luigi Rod 2 hits
Frazier 16th double
Zimmer walk and 27th steal
season debuts: Santander single, double, homer, walk 4 rbi; Tapia 2 singles, walk, homer

Solid looking guys who can get on base but can't drive the ball worth a darn:
Yandy Diaz with two singles for Akron is hitting 303. His OBP is a lofty 400. Slugging 359. 7 xb hits in 268 at bats
He's a 6-2 185 third baseman.
Mike Papi with a single and two walks. HIs OBP is 320, slugging 289. 14 doubles but no homers in 243 at bats for a 6-2 190 LF.

Well it was a good article.

I just had my second surgery in 8 months. Rotator cuff this time. So I am off work, and can't do anything. All I do all day is watch sports, read about sports, then come here and post about sports. I was really bored yesterday. I posted so much crap yesterday you were bound to miss some of it.

While the big team flails around, the minor leaguers do a little better:

http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.js ... d=20150620

Aguillar with another 2 hit day plus a walk. Moncrief a 3 run homer. Chisenhall ejected after arguing a called strike 3.
In relief Carlos Marmol debuts retiring 4 in a row, 3 on strikes; Austin Adams 1 2/3 scoreless, 1 hit 0 walks; CC Lee 1 inning 2 runs on a homer.

CF Jordan Smith with his 2nd homer of the year, a grand slam. Former prospect Ronnie Rodriguez 3 hits he's at 311 since return from oblivion. Ryan Merritt a future-former prospect, 7 innings, 7 runs on 12 hits.

doubleheader split for Lynchburg. Game 1, Mitch brown doesn't out of the first, 4 runs on 5 hits, ERA up to 5.85.
Game 2, Luis Lugo battles control in 5 shutout innings: 5-1-0-0-4-4
Luigi Rodriguez with 2 hits in each game, including his 5th triple, a walk and his 16th steal. Zimmer 2 hits in game 2, sits out the opener, steals his 28th. Frazier with a double. Levon Washington finally appears in a game, he walks twice. He has never appeared in more than 79 games of an injury-filled career.

Bobby Bradley goes small ball, 3 singles, no strikeouts. Francisco Mejia with his 6th homer and a single. Paulino 2 singles.
Another poor start, this one by Sean Brady: 6-9-6-6-0-7 2 homers,a though 5 of the runs all came in his last inning, so maybe he just ran out of gas.

Arizona team debuts with 10-8 win. Starter Micah Minard a 6-7 195 RH was fine: 5-2-0-0-2-3. Jose Rodriguez not so fine: 1 2/3-7-8-8-1-3
New names to follow for the offense: 2nd baseman Miguel Eladio, doubled and homered. RF Jose Medina 2 singles and a double. basestealing star Gabriel Mejia singled, sacrificed, and stole one base. returning defensive ace Alexis Pantoja, a SS, was 3-3 one a double and a walk

Monday in the Minors:

CLE AAA Naquin, Tyler CF 5 2 2 1 .265 2B (3) [he always debuts at a new level very well and slides down for awhile]
CLE AAA Ramsey, James LF 4 0 1 0 .250
CLE MAJ Lindor, Francisco SS 3 0 1 0 .200
CLE MAJ Perez, Roberto C 3 2 2 1 .210 2B (3), HR (5), BB (23)

Also, Anthony Santander hit his 2nd and 3rd doubles, and his 3rd homer, adding in a single for the Scrappers. I wish he would stay healthy. He has a lot of promise. So far his career consists of lots of half-seasons. The last two were in Lake County so he's actually now at what probably qualifies as a lower level, although there often are more college pitchers here than in the Midwest League.
Meanwhile for the Scrappers, 18-year-old SS Willi Castro with another 2 hit game; catcher Li-Jen Chu had a single and double; 2015 draftees Mathias and Tom each with a pair of hits; ditto for 4th year OF D'vone McClure.
Slow-developing pitcher Kieran Lovegrove debuts with a pretty lousy line: 4-5-6-5-3-4
Ambidextrous Ryan Perez also debuts with a lousy game, 3 runs in 1 1/3 innings. Box doesn't identify which arm he used.
