Re: General Discussion
5358Chisenhall can't field either. Urshela will make a big difference on defense. Offense, maybe. He hit real well in 2014, is clearly not "ready" this season offensively. But I view the move at 3rd base as having two motives:Indians finally addressed two positions that have plagued the offense for two months.
1. shore up the weakest defensive link
2. reward Chisenhall for his continue lack of development.
Wonder if Lonnie got the word before yesterday's game and proceded to make a pair of errors? I don't like his approach to the game and hope for lots of reasons that Urshela proves he's ready to take over. Then Lonnie can be swapped for some bullpen depth.
Re: General Discussion
5359Hmm, am I buying this?
Francisco Lindor - SS - Indians
Indians GM Chris Antonetti said Monday that Francisco Lindor has been considered for a promotion but is dealing with minor hand and core injuries.
Which could suggest that the 21-year-old shortstop prospect will be brought up as soon as he gets back to 100 percent health.
Cleveland demoted Jose Ramirez to the minors on Sunday evening and will roll with Mike Aviles as the primary shortstop for now. Lindor is a .277/.353/.383 career hitter in the minors, but he's terrific defensively.

5362Jeff born in Cleveland. His dad is Rich Passan.Hillbilly wrote:Jeff Passan is a baseball writer for Yahoo Sports, for those that may not know. He's speculating on Lindor but the Ramirez demotion is fact.
Only other move that makes sense is bring up Walters, but Lindor is hitting better than him in AAA. And defensively he's far better.
Re: General Discussion
5363I remember Passan the Puck with Rich Passan; I guess he covered the Barons for the PD back in the days of Dan Coughlin, Chuck Heaton, Russell Schneider and of course Hal.
Re: General Discussion
5365Hurray! I've been waiting for him to make to Cleveland for several years. Don't know if his bat is ready or not.
Re: General Discussion
5366Even if he don't hit as long as he can refrain from booting double play balls he'll be an improvement.
Re: General Discussion
5367Heck, booting ONE double play ball would be an improvement.
Pretty low bar after Chiz. He'll be fine.
One other advantage, he can be sure to see plenty of lefty opposing pitchers.
