1-2-3 w/ 2 K 1st for Kluber
Jordan Bastian @MLBastian
Kluber's last 7.1 innings have included 12 strikeouts and only one walk. He has at least 1 K in each of those eight innings.

14957Great baserunning by Perez.....

Re: GameTime!™
14958Wow, that last inning was ugly. Kluber was cruising till then. Coulda been a lot worse.
Re: GameTime!™
14962I blinked...how did that guy get to 3rd?

Re: GameTime!™
14963And now Shaw loads the bases on 4 pitches...WTF?
We have one frickinn out and can't get one out of 3 different pitchers?
Phew.....got the 3rd strike out.
But really 3 pitchers to get the last out of the inning?
We better score in the top of next inning...I don't know who we have left.

14966Last year I mentioned a comment Shapiro made about why he thought bullpens were so inconsistant from one year to the next. He said when a reliever is doing well the tendency is to use him a lot, and they get over- worked.

14967Sorry bout the HILLcats. I knew that. Sometimes my fingers type letters wrong. That's it, my fingers are at fault.
Re: GameTime!™
14968Salazar looked good Saturday; fanned 10 in 6 innings, and just one run, walked only two. Hagadone entered and immediately tagged for a homer, but the big Tribe bats have plated a mammoth total of 4 today, and only one scored on a wild pitch.
Big hitter vs. the RH pitching Hughes turns out to be the RH hitting Roberto Perez with his second homer, plus two singles. Jose Ramirez with a double and single. The top 7 in the order all of whom hit left=-handed havae managed two singles among them.
Tom Hamilton seems particularly unimpressed with our leadoff man, whose 0-4 drops his average to 190 and his OPS to 482. For Bourn 3 walks in 10 games is pretty good, but on the other hand he has fanned 12 times. Speed demon is 1/2 in steals.
Kipnis with a RBI single [and that stat posted above all the 3 RBI are this year, he managed to drive in 0 runs all last September]. Jason is hitting 220, OPS 518, only 2 walks, he used to be pretty good at talking free passes.
And worse than either of the above, David Murphy's 0-4 puts his avg at 167 and his OPS at 472; he's actually not played much with all the lefty starters, only 18 AB and only 2 K to match his 2 BB.
Then there's Brandon Moss, who does manage an occasional xb hit, including his 2nd double of the year today; and a homer, but he only has one single. And his 2K today give him exactly 1/2 as many K as AB. His avg is 143 but his OPS a high-flying 594.
So I think Bourn does win the honor as the most useless of the useless. So far.

Re: GameTime!™
14969Tito is trying something new this season: Hagadone worked two full innings, and after the homer he retired the next 6 quickly, only 19 pitches total. McAllister was brought out for a second inning yesterday.
BTW, Atchison has not worked in a few days. He's OK, I hope? He's been the best guy out there along with Crockett, who was shipped to Columbus for roster reasons.

14970Incredibly quick top of the 9th so we see if Allen can hold a two run lead vs Dozer, Vargas and Suzuki.
