Swisher and Santana have been major disapointments. At least Bourn has redeemed himself, sorta.

Carlos is no longer in that class. Santana's average although it has at last climbed over 200 looks terrible, but he's up to 11 homers, he walks so much that this is on base pct [354] is far higher than the leadoff man Bourn [316]. His OPS is 736 and in June it's 1073

Swisher finally managed a non-game-winning yesterday but also struck 3 more times, his avg is now the lowest of the low at 194 and his OPS is 602 in a category of his own.

Kipnis frustrates me. He fanned 3 times yesterday, avg dropped below 250; OPS 662 and 575 since he came off the DL.

Well, we flunked our first golden opportunity of the year. Choked under the pressure.

I do consider ourselves still very lucky to be only 5 games out at this point in the season after being down double digits last month.

My drop dead point in the year comes at the all-star break. If we are still within 5 games or closer of first place in the division, we're in good shape. Anything beyond 5 games is really an uphill battle. I've found that it takes around 3-4 weeks to make up 5+ games. Being 5 out now, we have a good shot at closing the gap to 3 or less games by the break.
