13835Michael Bourn with a clutch single in 9th with 2 outs to tie it up!
Extra innings we go ...

Re: GameTime!™
13837If Axford does not get better I see no reason to keep him over Hagadone. Results are about the same lately and Hagadone is cheaper and a lefty.
Re: GameTime!™
13838What a crappy game today, what a crappy weekend homestand.
Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everyone you meet.
Re: GameTime!™
13839Over a 100,000 fans for the weekend series. They deserved better.
I am now paying for all the crap I gave my wife when we beat the Tigers earlier.

Re: GameTime!™
13840Swisher and Santana have been major disapointments. At least Bourn has redeemed himself, sorta.

Re: GameTime!™
13841Carlos is no longer in that class. Santana's average although it has at last climbed over 200 looks terrible, but he's up to 11 homers, he walks so much that this is on base pct [354] is far higher than the leadoff man Bourn [316]. His OPS is 736 and in June it's 1073
Swisher finally managed a non-game-winning yesterday but also struck 3 more times, his avg is now the lowest of the low at 194 and his OPS is 602 in a category of his own.
Kipnis frustrates me. He fanned 3 times yesterday, avg dropped below 250; OPS 662 and 575 since he came off the DL.

Re: GameTime!™
13842Well, we flunked our first golden opportunity of the year. Choked under the pressure.
I do consider ourselves still very lucky to be only 5 games out at this point in the season after being down double digits last month.
My drop dead point in the year comes at the all-star break. If we are still within 5 games or closer of first place in the division, we're in good shape. Anything beyond 5 games is really an uphill battle. I've found that it takes around 3-4 weeks to make up 5+ games. Being 5 out now, we have a good shot at closing the gap to 3 or less games by the break.

13843What we need is for Detroit to give up trying to win, the day BEFORE they clinch rather than the day AFTER they clinch.
Re: GameTime!™
13845Cabrera walked and stole 2nd. Brantley out. Then Santana walked.
2-2 against Kipnis now...
