Tuesday games:

http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.js ... d=20140603

Included is a box for our DSL team that just got started. Lots of 17-20 year old Latin players. One of the older guys is a 1b/of Moncion who has been there two years before. Every other name looks new to me.

BA reported on our International signings last year:
Top signing: Hector Caro, Dominican Republic, $1.1 million Six-figure signings: SS Grofi Cruz (Dominican Republic), C Francisco Mejia (Dominican Republic), C Yoiber Marquina (Venezuela), RHP Naoki Hashimoto (Japan).
Quick Take: The international scouting community was not nearly as high as the Indians were on Hector Caro, who signed for $1.1 million. The Indians also added a pair of strong-armed catchers and ventured into Japan to add three young players.
Don't see any of these names in the box score. Mejia already debuted in the US last summer and made a big splash. I guess he'll be returning to our Arizona summer team; had hoped he might play in Lake County this year.

Among the other teams, notable performances from:

Gabriel Arias, 24 year old RH, with Columbus, scooped up from Phillies' dustbin. 7 1/3-6-1-1-1-5. Kyle Crockett with a typical perfect inning with 1 K. Tyler Holt continues to sizzle after his first AAA promotion at age 25: 3 hits and a walk, hitting .389. Adam Abraham escapes extended spring training purgatory and debuts with 3 hits in 4 tries.

Akron led by suddenly hot Ronny Rodriguez' 3 hits, climbs to 235; Naquin doubles, walks, caught stealing.

Carolina the lone loser. Plutko better than his Mudcat debut: 6-8-3-3-1-1. He left his strikeout pitch behind in Eastlake.
Levon Washington continues un-injured, hitless in 4 tries and fans 3 of them, but healthy is healthy.

Indians place Danny Salazar on the Triple-A disabled list

First he struggled for the Indians, then he was even worse following a demotion to the minors, and now Danny Salazar is on the Triple-A disabled list with a strained triceps muscle.

This wasn’t how this season was supposed to go for one of the most promising young pitchers in baseball, especially after Salazar dominated in the minors and then thrived during his big-league debut last season at age 23.

Hopefully it proves to be a minor injury and Salazar can get back on the mound by the end of the month, but he certainly seems unlikely to rejoin the Indians before the All-Star break.
