Having a hard time getting used to the fact that we are playing HUGE, meaningful games halfway through September!
Best trade in a long time. Esmil Rodgers (Rogers) for Gomes and Aviles. I think I have that right.
So true husker. And add that to the addition of Ryan Raburn you have 2 huge "under the radar" acquisitions that have been obvious keys to this fun season.

$25 million for Nick Swisher and Asdrubal Cabrera owed for 2014. Look it up, Rust Man.

Anyone want to chime in that they truly believe Mark Shapiro and Chris Antonetti did well in those contracts as they are now benched for big games like the KC rubber game of the series the other day, and both are hitting about a combined .238 with little light in their tunnels for improvement?

Swish, Cabs, Shaps and Antoinetti.

Shaps gave us the key words of "Masty" and "bump."

Shaps should drink a little more. It might have given him some perspective before he brought in baseball neophyte Marie Antoinetti.

Dolan... KenM has been all over for going on a decade, and no one cares.

I live about 150 nautical miles from Havana, Cuba.

The 2013 Cleveland Indians will be close, but with a nod to Fidel, "no cigar."

And Rust Man and the Shaps and Marie Antoinetti piggies will cry "wha, wha wha!" all the way home.

And next season will be grim with the lead weights of "Swish" and "Cabs." And the next season. And the next season.

And so on.

And of course, true to his lack of character or personal thought here for over a decade, Rusty does his personal "rope a dope."

Challenged to defend his ill conceived love of Shapiro merit, he chooses to change focus and attack on a personal level, which I thought was not supposed to be allowed around these parts as we all took our board vows.

Rusty, you are so predictable.

(Someone tell Mt Fan that "rope a dope" is a historically relevant boxing reference. The big lug has the truth evading him as much as Cassius Clay evaded anything)

(and someone else should check out Shaps career ticket sales and trends.....and especially.....2013......no wonder Northeastern Ohio is going to hell in a handbasket)

This may be a better standiings to look at, It shows the Tribe 1.5 behind the Rays and 2.5 behind the Rangers, http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/standings/wildcard.jsp

In the last 10 games Indians have picked up 5 games on the Rangers, Rangers have a 4 games with the Rays starting Monday,

This is like a 2 week playoff.

I love Swisher! He's the poster child for the competitive Indians. He the key FA signing that put us on a path to competing for aplayoff spot. Now the fans need to show and and we have to $$$ our starting pitching...

Also think Shapiro is one of the best front office execs in the big leagues. He delivers year after year for his boss boys....

Thanks, BUCK84. Looks like the Rays and Rangers aren't tied after all. Since they play each other next week though, one team has to lose every night. So if the Indians continue to win, they can pick up ground. Maybe we should root for the Rangers in that series, though? Or the Rays, since the Rangers are in a free fall?

The fans are not showing. They have been "not showing' and declining in paid attendance year after year of Mark Shapiro. Frank, are you really paying attention?

(every time I see your moniker, I get a craving for a Hebrew National hotdog loaded with kraut...and maybe jalapenos and Ball Park mustard)

Hey, I have to love Swisher, too. He really is my distant cousin of some West Virginia sort.

But he's hitting .242 with 55 RBI's as the 2013 season ends, and he awaits a $15 million paycheck for next year and and again and again in future years.

.242 with a tick over 15 HR's and 55 RBI's this year with a handful of games to go ain't worth the $15 million Shaps and Antoinetti gave him for the next years.

Your boy Shaps should have dealt him before the trade deadline. If he had, we'd have the post season sewn up, and a much brighter future. (not thinking about any reference to "Hope, " recently given our current "Commander in Chief" in the vermin ridden White House in Washington D.C.....check the news....there are mice and cock roaches not only in Obamaland Cleveland, but also in the Obamaland White House.)

Instead, Shaps did a "la te da" or whatever the heck a non baseball guy does and lollygagged with regard to his lead weight anchors of Cabs and Swish at the trade deadline.

Yes, Shaps could still fall into dumb luck as the Nolan Ryan led organization shoots guns into their feet when they really should not be doing so. Let's not mention for now the New York Yankees.

We're gonna lose again in 2013 missing the post season, and it's all at the feet of Shaps and Antoinetti.

Just for you, Rust Man....

You are too shallow to have ever known you might have had a heart breaking.

And apparently not keeping yourself in good enough shape to have had the chance.

I once had a younger girl living with me....about 15 years younger when I was 41 at this board's inception...and I bought her a used 300ZX to soften the blow of my kicking her out ....and I put the title in her mother's name, with her mother's pre approval for the "graceful exit".

All that said, Mark Shapiro is a complete waste of Dolan Dollars.

A complete waste.
