The Sox lineup is barely recognizable anymore, but they gave the Tigers all they could handle in their series. Nice win today to keep pace with the Tigers. Just keep taking aim at those series wins. Everything should play itself out in the end.

My vote goes to Gomes or Brantley for a shot at that cleanup spot. Gomes has been our most consistent hitter this year, while Brantley has been very good in the clutch.

Didn't even know there was a game until I couldn't find it at 8 p.m. Impressed with Brantley's continued solid clutch hitting. He came through 3 separate times in that game.

Continue to be significantly unimpressive with the offensive noncontributions of Cabrera and Chisenhall. Aviles will probably start nearly daily for them, but one of those two will have to play, too, unfortunately.

KC beat the Tigers 2-1 in game 1. KC leads the Tigers 2-0 in the nightcap top of the 6th. This could be a nice evening overall. Tribe in Oakland. That's one helluva pitching staff the A's have. It's going to tough to getting wins out there.

KC just put another run on the board top of the 7th. They lead by 3 now.

Shields retires the side without any runs being scored in the home half of the 7th. KC taking a 3-0 lead into the 8th.
