I read that Ramirez was involved in a collision with one of his outfielders and is out of the lineup with an ankle injury. They say its a precautionary measure for right now.

Thursday boxes:

http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.js ... d=20130718

Some highlights:

Lindor 2 walks, a single, 2 steals. 286 in 3 AA games
Naquin 0-6 with 2 K
Paulino 0-5
Moncrief 12th homer for Akron
Frazier 2 hits
Levon Washington rehabbing 3-4 with a triple in Arizona; might as well go to a real team
Santander HR 5
Fedroff 2 hits
Alex Monsalve season debut as Akron catcher

Pitching:
Salazar finishes up for McAllister 3-4-2-2-0-4
Anderson still looks good in Carolina: 6-7-2-1-0-5
2013 draftees LHP Kenny Matthews 3 shutout innings and Kyle Crockett 2 shutout for Scrappers, Crockett ERA remains Zero; 4 K last night. Time to move up.
Good relief work in Akron: Scott Armstrong 1 2/3 perfect with 4 K; Jose Flores 2 innings, 2 walks, 4 K

Lindor seems to be adapting pretty well to Eastern League pitching. His early stats:

5 hits in 15 at bats, plus 7 walks and NO strikeouts. One of the hits a triple. Throw in 5 steals in 5 tries. OPS is 1.012 and if the steals were counted in that calculation as total bases, which would make sense, that figure would rise to 1.345.

Scrappers split a pair: fall 3-0 and win 7-3. Josh McAdams with 3 hits in the 2 games. Nellie Rodriguez with a single and his 5th homer in the nightcap, and 3 rbi. This kid is on fire: last 9 games: 34-8-13-10. In July, OPS 1041. He's only 19 so playing very young for this league.

Kyle Crockett continues to waste his team in the NYPL. Another perfect inning with 2 strikeouts. Pro total to date:

9 1/3 innings, 5 hits, 2 walks, 1 unearned run, 16 strikeouts.

Our best offensive team, by a long shot, is the Aeros. They have a batch of league leaders. Some of these high rankings are of course because other players have done so well that they have been promoted. Indians have moved very few players this year, especially position players, Lindor of course an exception.

League Leaders:

Jesus Aguillar NO. 1 in RBI among all AA leagues with 76.
Jose Ramirez NO. 1 in the EL with 33 steals and No. 1 in runs scored

Tyler Holt is No. 2 in runs scored
Carlos Moncrief is No. 2 in Total Bases

Carlos Moncrief is tied for No. 3 in Runs scored
Tyler Holt is No. 3i in the EL in steals
Holt and Moncrief and Ronny Rodriguez are among a group tied for No. 3 in the EL with 6 triples
Moncrief is also tied for No. 3 in Hits

Moncrief is No. 4 in Slugging Percentagae

Moncrief is No. 5 in Batting Average
Moncrief is No. 5 in OPS

Jesus Aguillar is No. 6 in doubles
Tyler Holt is No. 6 in hits

Jose Ramirez is tied for No. 9 in triples
Carlos Moncrief is No. 9 in RBI

Matt Packer is the only starting pitcher on the Aeros who has done anything noteworthy (since Salazar left town). Packer has some impressive numbers:
No. 1 in the Eastern League in ERA, and No. 1 (tie) in Wins. No. 3 in IP. No. 4 in hits allowed. And there's no ranking I find for this but only 5 homers in 115 innings.
Despite all that and despite him being a lefty, the Indians have not seen reason to promote him. He will turn 26 in five weeks; and he did try and fail in AAA last year.

Lindor with another hit to start the Aeros 1st but then caught stealing for the first time in AA (after 5 successes). Carlos Moncrief with his big arm nailed a runner in the bottom of the 1st and with his big bat slugged a double to start the top of the 2nd. Like to see him in Columbus; he's not young (since he spent his early pro seasons as a pitcher) and the Clippers have no one blocking his path.

2 Carolina starters with ERA's before 3: RH Cody Anderson who seems to be a pretty good prospect; and LH Shawn Morimando who puts plenty on base but doesn't let a lot of them score.

Anderson 101 innings 85 hits 26 walks 1.10 WHIP 92 K 2.31 7-3 record
Morimando 97 innings 77 hits 49 walks 1.30 WHIP 72K 2.89 6-9
