10982I'm personally looking forward to Cali's post where he places Mark Shapiro on a certain grassy knoll...J.R. wrote:What has happened to make you so NEGATIVE?Tribe Fan in SC/Cali wrote:We're gonna need a mid-season fix, and Shapiro and his personal Boy Wonder are going to blow it.
Put it in the bank.
I used to enjoy your optimistic posts.
I find it a little sad that someone can seemingly allow one person to either cloud the bigger picture, or stop them from enjoying something they like.

J.R., you are a great guy but let's face it that Shapiro is a worthless tool that has been in charge of our possible Fan Fun for way too long. For The Browns we had a KenM hated short bus owner that sold to a guy I thought I would like who is now likely headed to prison. Not even for stealing his own stuff, like OJ.
Just stealing from people his people thought were stupid. Pathetic.
Not much up and coming and worth hoping about in Cleveland, as I see it.
I'd trade all of Cleveland to Canada for a young Jim Brown to start at the team of my fandom choice.
Re: GameTime!™
10984Try putting your obsessive hatred for Shapiro aside, and live in the moment. Sports are supposed to be entertainment. If you can't enjoy watching/following a team, then why bother?

Aren't you still in Australia?
I'd think the kangaroo and eggs would be ready by now.
If my negative outlook is affecting anyone here, the affected are all pussies.

No man left behind.
(you lost me at "obsevive hatred"......... perhaps suggest you come up with a defense for why Mark Shapiro is still around after all his years of futility?)
Re: GameTime!™
10987He's gone off the deep end. His posts haven't been about anything resembling sports since the election, or maybe long before that. His posts are mostly about himself, his hatred of Obama, and how everything about the city of Cleveland is a lost cause because they voted heavily in favor of Obama.J.R. wrote:Try putting your obsessive hatred for Shapiro aside, and live in the moment. I come to these forums to read about the coaches and players, and how we're doing, period. TFISC is here only to vent his hatred of all things about Cleveland, and to try to bring anyone rooting for those teams down. He's gone full asshole.
Re: GameTime!™
10990Don't forget about speed ! Don't forget about Drew Stubbs ! Stubbs made an awesome grab of that Ibanez drive slicing away from him in the top of that 10th inning. His speed in chasing down that liner could have been a game changer. Stubbs' two out walk and subsequent stolen base in the home half of that 10th inning as well as Bourne's speed in notching that infield single also game changers. Stubbs and Bourne kept the inning alive for the Kipnis heroics.
Three reasons why this year is so much different from those of the recent past is having one of the best benches I can remember in a long time, speed, combined with power. Three reasons why I believe the Tribe will be in this thing from beginning to end.
Who says a manager is only responsible for 4 or 5 wins a year as well an equal amount of losses ?
The team is well balanced. They have the strong bench, strong bullpen, above average defense, adequate starting pitchers, and a potent offense. Francona is doing a great job in finding some playing time for everyone. Everyone is contributing. The only change I might wish for is a more athletic player to take Giambi's spot on the bench. Francona likes this guy too much, so I doubt that will happen.

10991Great timing for the Kipnis homer. That homer and that win should get the juices flowing with the fans. 30,000+ witnessed it countless others watched it. That should give a lasting impression for the fans to build upon for the rest of the season.

10992Another key guy is Ubaldo Jimenez. I remember a short while back at the start of this season where quite a few of us wanted his scalp. Trade him! Demote him to Columbus! I posted that Ubaldo's pitches were working well but the control was off. I didn't want to give up on him at that time because his pitches were moving well and now I'm glad that Francona still kept the faith. It appears that Jimenez has turned the corner and that is good for the Indians.
I was able to grab a few minutes of the Aeros game last night. It also appears the Myers will be ready to join the staff soon. He had a very good rehab stint.

10993Consider me one of those offended, TFin SC.
Ingraham article yesterday said that the Indians are going for it this year, since they sent Chisenhall down. Ingraham compared it to the treatment of Phillips when we had him and he was struggling.

Re: GameTime!™
10994As we all recall phillips was sent down because he was not a grinder nor was he gritty nor did he play the game the right way. How many years ago was that travesty?
