Nice win! We may never lose again.

Darvish has a perfect game going after 8 innings.

Masterson wasn't real sharp,
That's putting it mildly :P

Masterson was all over the place. There was so much movement on his pitches that I don't think he knew where the pitches were going to end up.

I guess what they say about being "effectively" wild is true. He battled all the way.

Smash up the middle between the wickets with two out. Basehit. No perfection tonight. WoW!

Nice Opening Day Win!

My biggest takeaway is that Joe Smith, Vinnie Pestano and Chris Perez were perfect according to script in pitching three innings of lights out for one hit and no runs after Justin Masterson doggedly got them to meaningful innings surrendering only three hits for the chance for his pen to secure the win.

Kipnis showing leather at 2nd was great.

My fave moment was when R.A. Dickey was grabbing his head in disbelief as Asdrubal's ball made the right field seats for the Home Run. Asdrubal also seemed surprised the ball carried that far judging by his mannerisms as he left the batters box.

These balls might be juiced. Or frozen. It was Canada, after all.

Unusual season start compared to recent years as after Opening Day we have a game tomorrow.

And the next tomorrow.

Let's get back to America undefeated.

Masty sat down the last 11 he faced. Seemed like he settled in a bit after the 3rd -- all 4 walks came in the first 3 innings, which also drove up his pitch count (103 for 6IP). Still, while he has no NL Cy Young to his credit, he outlasted Dickey, and actually had a nicer line than Mr. D.

Also - tribe batters K'ed 7 times. Tribe pitchers got 8 SO.

Two more Ks for the Tribe:

(read from bottom up)

Santana struck out swinging.
Brantley singled to left, Bourn scored, Swisher to second.
Swisher walked.
Kipnis struck out swinging.
Cabrera lined out to right, Bourn to third.
Bourn doubled to left.

Goggone strikeouts. Guess we should start getting used to it.
