Nothing will ever be as great for me as a Cleveland Indians World Series Championship in my lifetime....and we WILL get one. I'm only 56. Some of you guys better eat your Wheaties or something....
But I know I am fortunate that I have a surrogate team in The San Francisco Giants who have given me season ending happiness in 2010 and 2012.
I was also fortunate to have moved to The San Francisco Bay Area and listen to Cleveland Indian Duane Kuiper in the Giants broadcast booth. It was easy to pay attention to The Giants, as it was easy to pay attention to Oakland with Ray Fosse in the broadcast booth for the A's.
It was easy to go often to The San Francisco Giants ballpark, as it is a wonderful ballpark.
It was easy to to the Oakland Athletics ballpark, because it reminded me of the empty Cleveland Municipal Stadiums of my youth during Cleveland Indians games.
I was in that mob celebration in downtown San Francisco when The San Francisco Giants clinched in 2010.
And I happily watched The Giants celebration on Fox this evening.
Oddest part of the viewing was watching the poor guy from Chevrolet who was called upon to offer the MVP car to Pablo Sandoval. I think the GM guy had been near tears after his Tigers lost The World Series.
I'll bet he never watches a replay of any of those four games.....at least a wager from MY personal experiences.
