My only concerns are that he is 36, has a no trade clause, and $38 million remain on his contract. Lot of money for a 36 year old. If Soriano ok's the deal, I'm assuming the Cubs will relieve some of the burden for that contract.

Stubbs and Reynolds both are RH. Brantley, Kipnis, Chisenhall LH. Santana and Cabrera switch-hit. LF and DH not yet resolved. Balance is MUCH better than last year.

Instead of all those 1b's spilitting DH and 1B, could try Cord Phelps in a platoon with McGuinness. Phelps doesn't excite me but he can hit and he's RH and he can help in the IF which beats keeping all those 1b only guys around.
