9632Yep. I just tripped on the .190 and the .225 in the box score, realizing Lillibridge and Hannahan are two key guys, and this is the first week of September. Not exactly like those averages are low sample flukes for either of them.VT'er wrote:Oh it's probably more of that lefty-righty stuff. Anyway he got a hit and a SB later, didn't he? And we won? Proves Acta made the right moves I guess!

9633Tigers announcer note their belief that Masterson's lack of success against the Tigers in his career (?) stems that he has tried to overpower them with fast balls which their hitters have normally been good at handling.
Re: GameTime!™
9635Our lineup is all the old regulars, with the exception of Canzler in left. I guess Acta doesn't want to give the appearance of rolling over to a team battling for a spot in the post season.
Re: GameTime!™
9636I guess the Tiggers did bat .297 off Masterson in 09,10 and 11. 5.14 ERA.
In 2012 the Tiggers are batting .326 off Masterson. 6.55 ERA.

9637Any "no look it up" guesses on which Detroit Tiger has had the most home runs against the Indians in Detroit franchise history?
Clue, this guy used to rake against us....and he used to be one of us.
Young folks wouldn't have gotten this one.
Stormin' Norman Cash. In 228 games against us he had 51 home runs, 135 RBI's and a batting average of .309. The meat of his career was the decade of the 1960's.
In 1965 he hit .370 against us. In 1966 .333. In 1969 .436, and in 1971 .389.

9639I like that philosophy, and so far we are doing well v. the Tigers tonight.Tribe Fan in SC/Cali wrote:Our lineup is all the old regulars, with the exception of Canzler in left. I guess Acta doesn't want to give the appearance of rolling over to a team battling for a spot in the post season.

Yep, I edited the original post with the answer, and some assorted stats for him.
He came to us in the Minnie Minoso deal.

9641Stormin' Norman was my guess. That's why I asked the question. Didn't know there was such a short time limit!
Re: GameTime!™
9642Miguel Cabrera 2-out, 2-run HR cuts Tribe lead to 3-2 in 6th.
How many times have we given up runs after 2 outs, giving up none?

Quick trigger tonight. Plus the Jeopardy song was on the 10th play.....
Re: GameTime!™
9644Unless the Yankees rally...down 5-2 in Tampa.....Baltimore will have caught them for First Place, and Tampa Steve's Rays will be only 1 1/2 out.
And if the A's win later, the New York Yankees will be 2nd in the wild card race.
